call a garage . Fuel is not something to make experiments with ,especially if you no nothing about it .If U do ,u can put your mouth on the gas pipe end ,press it with some rags to make sure no air come out ,then blow air in as hard as you can . now we revers it .find the place of the pipe entering Carburator ,disconnect and ,after opening the gas tank so air can get out ,with no smokers around ,get some air pressur into the pipe that ,if this is the reason ,will blow the dirt back to the tank .then never drive with less then 50 % fule.

just so you know the fuel filter and pump are inside the tank
they are all one piece.
first thing to do is check the (IAC) idle air control at the back of the (TB) throttle body and make sure it doesn't have a bunch of carbon on the plunger that restricts air flow it has 2 torque screws holding it on T-25 torque bit is what you need.

then check the (TPS) throttle position sensor on the driverside of the the (TB) Throttle body also uses 2 torque screws same size

the easiest way to check for codes on a dodge ram pick up
is turn the key ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON do this quickly and it will show codes if you have the electronic odometer P0***
and for more help go to www.dodgeforum.com
i am a member there and the guys there are really knowledgable and helpful. no question goes unanswered.

oh and btw my truck is a 2001 and it has had the same problems and i replaced the IAC,TPS and it helped alot

make sure if you replace any parts to undo the neg. battery cable and turn the key to the on position for 30 seconds then turn the key off and hook the battery up and take a drive like 10 miles so the computer ECM can change the setting on the new parts.

Good Luck.

If it runs fine except when you let off the gas, most likely your idle speed motor is defective. There is no inline filter on the fuel system, just the one inside the tank at the bottom of the fuel pump.

If it runs fine except when you let off the gas, the gas sounds acceptable in it.

The 94 also had an EGR valve on the right rear of the engine. Make sure it isn't leaking vacuum also.

The idle speed motor is located on the back side of the throttle body, under the air cleaner.

the fuel filter is on the frame rail by the gas tank.

just put a bunch of good gas in it and that will get you by

as for the dieing problem it could be several things, start by replacing the fuel filter, adding good gas and it if still does it check fuel pressure. it could be a weak fuel pump, bummer time to drop the fuel tank, it could be a defective injector or a bad pressure regulator

just take it to like Midas and theyll do a full inspection for free or maybe a few buks depending on what you want done and then go back and say ill give you 500 because repairs are like 2000 or something like that. Thats what i did with my camry now at 200k going on 300k easey peasy. Just do the maintenance as scheduled itll run.
