That depends on the area of the heart being affected. In some cases the person will feel the pain in their arm, or a crushing weight on their chest. Alternatively, some people's first warning sign that they're having a heart attack isn't massive pain at all. In their case the first warning sign is death.

There is a great deal of pain during an AMI. It is felt constantly until unconsciousnss. The notable exception is the silent MI that has no outstanding symptoms felt by the affected person. I don't know what your abbreviation "etd" means. Is this supposed to be etc. (etcetera)?

Sometime it is a terrible pain. Other times, there is no pain and the person may not realize they had a heart attack.

When in doubt call 911 and/or go to the emergency room!

No. They're completely painless.

I would imagine it varies from person to person......heart disease is sometimes known as the "silent killer", no symptoms.
