God can be said to be unreal, because no one can see or speak directly to Him, and the only people who got close enough to do either were Moses and Jesus, and they lived a long time ago, and could have been made up anyways.

i come across that maximum anybody isn't sufficiently serious and aggressive whilst debating a element. The kindest and maximum polite thank you to respond to a controversy is to make up your very own. That has the unlucky effect of featuring the objective audience or your readers with 2 lines of argumentation from which they are able to compliment... that's very vulnerable, rhetorically conversing. this is lots greater effective to appeal to from the diagnosis of your opponent and furnish a guy made argument. although, it is likewise lots tougher. there are a number of positions from the main recommendations-blowing that rests upon a rationalist recommendations-set or financial fashions mutually with that of organic and appropriate opposition. tell me, how many human beings comprehend how those frameworks are geared up, upon which assumptions they relax or what form of epistemological positions they entail? very few... so, the debates you notice or learn are not debates. they're simultaneous monologues the place 2 or greater human beings talk their recommendations without listening to what the different has to assert -- and, in the tip, individuals of the objective audience possibilities the only they already agreed with. each and every of the above ability is which you're a top-winger, no longer that they are particularly good at debating -- and additionally you will ensure my declare considering that my pretension is that a leftist might experience the alternative.

Alright, here is my argument for the existence of God:

Although we have a good idea of how the universe was formed and how we evolved, there is apparently no reason why there is something instead of nothing, matter instead of vacuum, time instead of a frozen eternity. I choose to call that reason God, without making any assumptions regarding God's nature or purpose.

Ok (deistic agnostic)

Theist: The fundamental laws of the universe as we know them (at least in our local spacetime) are precisely "tuned" to allow for the formation of a large set of stars and planets including our own. While there may be no personal god who continues to maintain the universe in this way, at least one explanation for this is an intelligent spiritual being that made it so. (Watchmaker argument)

Atheist: (In reference to the above:) Yeah but it's entirely possible that our universe is not temporally (or contemporarily) unique meaning that there could have been many universes before this and many universes after this whose physical constants are such that the above is not true. Our universe appears unique in this regard because we are here to see it but we would not be if it were not unique in this regard. (Anthropic principle argument)

Edit: Excellent (and respectful) question in my opinion, btw.

Theist: God is real because I feel it to be true and I am amazed by the complexity of nature.

Atheist: God is not real because there is no observable proof for any of the claims made by his followers which cannot be otherwise substantiated.

Agnostic: God is unknowable, so why don't you guys shut up already!?!

OK, I like this one:

The Bible tells me that I you will burn in Hell for all time. I rather like that idea, therefore I believe.
