She'd probably say "the devil created cancer"...
But then that would be giving the devil god-like powers, wouldn't it? hmmm.... interesting.

cancers evolved....
Seriously though, they probably did evolve as a result of different environmental factors in places man migrated to. I don't think cancer or any illness was created for the 'purpose' of tormenting people. Origins of a disease would probably be even more scientifically provable than the origin of a species.
Satan has no power to create, and I really don't think God specifically created diseases. I think they developed over time, from matter that was already created. Your more philosophic types may purport that the germs and other impurities that lead to diseases were introduced into the environment by the sins of man. I don't know if I would go that far.
BTW, when you determine how cancer was created, please lemme know so I can ward off further attacks! Thanks :)

God created the light and caused the darkness. All things created are a result of God's creation. He says I created peace and caused evil. God created man knowing man would sin and the results are this sinful world. God is not finished with his creation yet but the end result is a perfect man demonstrated in the flesh by God through Jesus Christ.
Sin and death did enter the world through Adam and eternal life and salvation through Jesus.

I don't know, I am not good at science. Who created it? I don't know. Sometimes medical problems just "happen" it is not like someone is pulling the strings. For instance yesterday I discovered I had migraines, I didn't conclude, "God did it!" or anything like that. In the same way earlier my break pads of my car needed replaced, and that was not because someone "created" that need but merely because years of driving just naturally wears them down. Same thing with the body I guess. The body becomes more susceptible to disease.

I like your question and am curious about your own answer.
If every creation needs a creator, who do you think created it and why?
Me? I'm fine with my understanding of the Christian God creating the universe and allowing mankind free will to muck it up, but you definitely need to craft your own answer... oh, and don't forget to supply your evidence, too.
I'll check back once question closes.

Mr. Chippy,
God created Lucifer a bright and perfect Angel. Lucifer began, because of free will, to intertain thoughts of grandure. Lucifer and God could no longer co exist in heaven. God created earth. God tested whether or not mankind would be faithful to Him. Mankind failed God. Sin and suffering came to this earth because of man's choices. One day very soon God will come back and rid the earth of sin and suffering once and for all. The end.

God allows a lot of things. He did not create cancer. I think he allowed cancer to happen due to our choices. I believe that we have healing properties in our body to fight against illnesses but the choice we make with our food and living habits are causing us to have illnesses.
We all die for something. God will give us new, eternal bodies when we go to heaven.

I am a Christian, but I will be the first to tell you that I am in no way well versed enough in theology or my faith to give a coherent/theological answer to your question.
From what I do understand about God, I don't believe that he would have created cancer. Can I back that up, sorry, no. It's just what I think.

God created and said it was good...
But, humanity, not God causes pollution.
Humanity created food additives. Humanity creates the synthetics that end up causing cancer.
So easy for non-religious to say that Christians must blame God.... hmmm....maybe it comes under your science god creation list.

cancer is the result of a mutation of cells to cause them to go into rapid mitosis.
the cells were already there, they just go wrong due to certain factors.
and just because cancer exists doesn't mean God made it. Genesis speaks of giants and other strange creatures that were created when the nephillim mated with humans, God didn't make them.

Well, Theist answer is this, "God didn't create the bad things, the Devil did." But I thought that only God could create, anything, period. We innovate, not create. So they just completely denied their beliefs on that one. And lets say God does exist (for the simple sake of your question) yes he did create cancer, he created any and all STDs, he created leprosy, he created malaria, he created every bad and good thing in this world and universe, why, who knows? But there's your answer.
