hi , you see i get a rash right near my private areas almost anytime i do alot of walking ...i just finished helping my friend move out and now i have a terrible one , i can barley walk . and im going on a trip tommorow, and will have to walk atleast 4 miles just tommorow! now let me tell you some things about my self . im 6-2 , 245 ibs.... so is this caused because im overweight . and if it is how can i stop it from happening! ive been trying to exercise more but i get these rashes any time i walk around for more than an hour....also is there anything i can put on it today so that it wont hurt much tommorow...thanks

You have what the oldtimers call the Gauld! This is where you rub skin to skin.
1 Do not use vasoline
2 do not use hydrocortizone

Get some good ole corn starch like a gold bond as mentioned earlier, take a shower or a bath and then powder up good and wear loose like basketball shorts for a while. Powder several times to keep you from rubbing anymore! I would suggest to change the type underwear you wear or select bigger ones.
P.S. In no way is 6-2 245 way over weight.

That sounds like chafing. There are lots of products out there that will help with that. Various powders and whatnot. Anything that would reduce the friction on the skin. As for preventing it from happening, watch what clothing you wear, some materials are worse than others. Losing some weight might help with it as well, it'd be difficult to tell.

Yes alot of people who are overweight get this rash you can try over the counter creams but if they don't work don't be embarrassed to go ask the doctor for a prescription.

Use Gold Bond powder on your rash/rubbing areas.

Stops the friction that causes the rash. In the meantime, don't let the skin rub, and apply a cream or ointment with hydrocortisone in it. Icing the area helps, too.

Use talcum powder to prevent it. You may need to see a dermatolist to treat the rash. Do your pants fit properly?

it's called chafing put baby powder down there and it wont happen anymore will also help with rash you have now

It is because you are overweight so it's a good thing you are aware of it. In the meantime, powder yourself in that area several times a day....it will help
