They weren't meant 2 live 4ever in the 1st place.
As long as animals and plants live and die, excrete wastes and return to the earth, our planet will be in a continual state of rejuvination/fertilization.
Only humans, whom God created with the superior capacity to seek Him, were meant to live forever.

Boy are you way out there. You must really have a hang up about people who believe in the Bible. As do some of the others who answered. We all live and die. Humans and animals. I have had many pets and I have loved each one. I even had little burials for them. What has animals dying have to do with the Bible. Are you a moron or what ?Or are you just a total flake. I'd be using all my energy on why do innocent babies have to die-do they deserve the death penalty. I'd be more upset over people dying than animals and I am an animal lover. Sorry fella-We all die. EVERYTHING and EVERYBODY at some time or another,. Get real!!!!!!!!!

No. There was no death at all prior to Adam & Eve sinning. One result of that sin was that death and decay came into the world, for animals, plants & of course people. Animals do not need salvation as they do not have souls. Only humans were created in the image of God, having souls, the ability to reason, to choose between what is right and what is wrong etc.

Everything and everybody must die. Death is not a penalty; life is eternal, even as God is eternal. The minute one person or animal dies, another is born. Such is the circle of life.

God never said the animals would not die. Mankind were the only ones who had that chance. The animals were put here for us.

"Nothing in this world is permanent"
If animals don't die, humans won't live. Just imagine if the family of dinosaurs are roving the world... a bunch of them.

God doesn't love them, I guess. He created them, but he really doesn't love them and humans are special, or something.
Sorry, an unserious attempt at an answer from a non-theistic pagan.
