The end has been near for as long as people have been aware of an end of the world concept. It will continue to be just around the corner for a very long time to come.

According to 2 Tim 3:16 we are living in the 'last days' now. We have been in the last days for about 100 years, and will continue to be until the end comes. No one but God knows how close it really is.

Great answer Diminati. So, either Jesus or Matthew got it wrong. I love it when you can actually use Bible verses to debunk itself. It's like that robot on Lost in Space - error ...error...error does not compute, and smoke starts coming out of its bubble head.

I was told that the early Christians, like just after Jesus died, expected him back within their lifetimes. I would not hold my breath, if I were you.
