I'm torn.
I've always believed in God in a karmic way. You do good, God rewards you. You do bad, you will face consequences. Then there's the testing of your faith, entire subject on it's own.
I have faith in God, not people. I believe in God & I know that he works through people but I also know that evil comes through people as well and it is easier for people to do bad. I trust in God to guide me and give me the wisdom to identify between the two.
What is concerning me now is that I believe that if you are going to follow the word of the lord you can't pick and choose what you will believe but follow faithfully and entirely (1 Cor14:37-38) but the bible was written by man inspired by God (Key word: INSPIRED)(Man is known to err) in a time when our society's views were much different than now (One example:1 Corinthians14:34-35). Parts of the bible have been removed. They were unsuitable?
"Even the devil can recite the Bible to get his way". I can't follow blindly. HELP PLEASE?!?!

Thank you all for your responses! A lot of you were very helpful (Mars1venus :) thanks for the info) and others have supported my reason for not claiming a religion.
As to those who get defensive with the topic, I'm sorry if you don't like your beliefs being questioned but God gave me thought, brain, the ability to learn and I intend to use it. (Proverbs 14:15)
I agree that God inspired/guided and had faith in Man to put Gods word on paper accurately but guidance & inspiration does not guarantee that the path shown was followed without the slightest stray. God has faith in us to live by his word but it is still our responsibility and, more important, choice to do so, as it was theirs. We, as "man" are not perfect. I'm not calling God a liar, but man can be.
One does not ask for a meal and expect a three course dinner to appear in front of them with no effort of our own. I ask for guidance and in turn have compromised to seek Gods answers and truth through you all..."man".

Well, you sound alittle like me. I read the bible, and believe, though i havent found a church or religion that i like. You should read the bible, i really believed it is divinely inspired. Dont worry about what other people tell you to think about it, or what they believe this or that means. When you truly want to trust and have faith, Jesus puts all the feeling and understanding in your heart. Listen to him, not men.

You were sent another comforter one that tells you all things. It is the breath of life itself. No person believer or unbeliever lives without this life telling their conscious what's right and what's wrong. When you listen to this spirit you'll know to follow your heart away from lies and through diligent searching you will in time learn "Truth". There is a reason for feeling what you do. Meditate and use rational thought as it will always verify your spirit. Don't be fooled by people displaying a form of Godliness but denying the power of it because they are everywhere and they are here to keep you blind. You need no human teacher. Your designer built a complete help file in your operating system you just need to find where you misplaced it.

“The 66 books of the Bible were written on three continents? In three languages. By about 40 different people (kings, shepherds, fishermen, priests, and a physician). Over a period of about 1500 years. On the most controversial subjects. By people who in most cases had never met. By authors whose education and background varied greatly. Yet all 66 books maintain harmony with each other…as if written by one great mind. And indeed it was.” 2 Peter 1 verse 21 “Holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy spirit” Critics of the Bible have tried to say that certain “historical statements” in the Bible are not accurate but archaeologists have uncovered many discoveries that have proven the history of the Bible as accurate. The principles and the prophecies of the old testament as well as its history holds for us today as much relevance as it did for the Israelites in Jesus day and it blends perfectly with the new testament.

If someone was writing a book about your life, inspired by you, wouldn't you make sure that the things they wrote about you were accurate?
I do agree that the body of Christ seem to be divided. Especially on the issue of the rapture of the church, when will it happen. My advice is for you to pray for God to give you discernment. BTW....How can you say you believe when here you are expressing your assumptions as if they are fact? Aren't you calling God a liar? What parts of the bible that you truthfully know of that has been "removed"? Are you trying to finish in the physical what God has started in the Spirit? Walk by faith, not by sight. If you desire to see Gods plan in all of this, seek Him, not man. If you know man is so fallible then why do you seek us for answers regarding an infallible God? Pray dear, pray. Don't let Satan's doubts steal you away. Remember the parrable of the sower? Which seed do you represent? Jesus loves you so much.

How might you have God write his very own e book so as which you will possibly have faith he wrote it?.. Edit: I do have faith God has large powers, and that i've got faith God could have made a e book that all of us might agree grew to become into written by using him, yet whilst God had accomplished this then the objective of the e book would not be needed because of the fact we would not want faith.. Edit: God needs us to have faith that he exists without stress or worry, God might additionally choose us to have faith in guy, one yet another..

You dont follow blidnly, you follow in faith the true and only word of God, the living Holy Bible, that was inspired of God. You not only study and pray and do all you know to do, but as you grow closer to God, you pray and ask for discernment, and He begins to tell you even more. If you are truly obedient to the Lord in what you now know, God will protect you from error, but if you bring disobedience into it you are on the devils ground and can be led into so much deception from men, even those claiming to be of GOD. Stay in the word, obey it and you will be just fine.

The Bible is God's word and it is a tool that God uses to communicate with us. The Bible could contain scribal or copyist error due to a mistake of a man but the truth of the Bible is inerrant. The truth is we can not please God no man is good it is the reason God came to this word ot save his creation from their sin. It is through the atonement that man can be made new. Faith is not blind but those who love and seek God's truth receive a gift from God and this gift is called faith. blind faith would be in something other than God. Those who received this gift called faith receive revelation from God and through this a personal relationship with God.

This a bit lengthy, but I hope it helps.
The Bible was written by Man inspired by God. Historically, the Bible was edited, revised based on some one or another stating that there was heresy or untruth in scriptures, so Parts of the bibles were removed, destroyed. Each Religion and or Religious leaders.
The Bible, also called the Holy Bible, is the sacred book or Scriptures of Judaism and of Christianity. The Bible of Judaism and the Bible of Christianity are different, however, in some important ways. The Jewish Bible is the Hebrew Scriptures, 39 books originally written in Hebrew, except for a few sections in Aramaic. The Christian Bible is in two parts, the Old Testament and the 27 books of the New Testament.
The Old Testament is structured in two slightly different forms by the two principal divisions of Christendom. The version of the Old Testament used by Roman Catholics is the Bible of Judaism plus 7 other books and additions to books; some of the additional books were originally written in Greek, as was the New Testament. The version of the Old Testament used by Protestants is limited to the 39 books of the Jewish Bible. The other books and additions to books are called the apocrypha by Protestants; they are generally referred to as deuterocanonical books by Roman Catholics.
Early Christianity inherited from Judaism and took for granted a view of the Scriptures as authoritative. No formal doctrine of the inspiration of Scripture was initially propounded, as was the case in Islam, which held that the Koran was handed down from heaven. Christians generally believed, however, that the Bible contained the word of God as communicated by his Spirit--first through the patriarchs and prophets and then through the apostles. The writers of the New Testament books, in fact, appealed to the authority of the Hebrew Scriptures to support their claims concerning Jesus Christ.
The actual doctrine of the inspiration of the Bible by the Holy Spirit and the inerrancy of its words arose during the 19th century in response to the development of biblical criticism, scholarly studies that seemed to challenge the divine origin of the Bible. This doctrine holds that God is the author of the Bible in such a way that the Bible is his word.
Many theories explaining the doctrine have been suggested by biblical scholars and theologians. The theories range from a direct, divine, verbal dictation of the Scriptures to an illumination aiding the inspired writer to understand the truth he expressed, whether this truth was revealed or learned by experience.
It is commonly known that the Bible, in its hundreds of different translations, is the most widely distributed book in human history. Moreover, in all its forms, the Bible has been enormously influential, and not only among the religious communities that hold it sacred. The literature, art, and music of Western culture in particular are deeply indebted to biblical themes, motifs, and images. Translations of the Bible, such as the Authorized Version (or King James Version, 1611) and Martin Luther's translation of the Bible into German (first completed in 1534) not only influenced literature but also shaped the development of languages. Such effects continue to be felt in emerging nations, where translations of the Bible into the vernacular help to shape language traditions.

And no one should follow blindly. There are so many parts that where cast from the bible, for the exact thing you said, they were deemed unfit. they left to many questions, and the chruch Hates that. I used to believe in god, i went to church and everything, but it got to a point where i could make better sense of things without god. Now, people like to quote the bible alot, Palms 14.1 " the fool hath said in his heart there is no God." And i always like to remember Matt 5.22 "but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire."
It makes me happy that the bible is so contorted

If you believe in God then you believe in the Bible. A lot of people these days like to pick and choose parts of the bible, but you can't. God wrote the bible through men. It doesn't matter how good you are to get to heaven. If you accept Christ as your savior, you are saved!
