You are definitely NOT overreacting. I completely, 100% agree with you!
First of all, those people need to know that it's only trendy with middle-schoolers. Probably not even with middle-schoolers.
What's sad is that it takes time to type like that so it makes people who type like that look even more like losers. Why do people purposefully try to make themselves look like idiots?

Oh that absolutely drives me nuts. In fact when I saw your question I thought, why the HELL do people type like that?! It just shows how ignorant and stupid people are growing up to be. How lazy are we as a society that we have to spell stuff out phonetically all the time?

Well, sometimes it's fun, but a few times, it was like someone was reaching out and pushing away at the same time. Also, occasionally it's like the writer is not being honest, maybe yanking our chain or something.

It is my biggest pet peeve on the internet. I assume someone that types like that is a moron, and has no intellect whatsoever. And there is a spell check! I guess people have become so lazy they can't even do that. Doesn't give me much hope for our future...

If human beings are going to be plopping their lazy asses on the laptop for non-academic purposes like, MSN or Face e book, they'd desire to have adequate undemanding experience to style frequently. i absolutaley hate it, but i like like the ne1 and like the ppl and dis and duz. i luv talkin like that, i just like hate the half uppercase, hlaf loewrcase talk, is all. but thats cause im like a girly girl. i do cheerleading and gymnastics, for the like cheerleading, i bet you can tell by the way i like tawk.

No, it's not just you. It's really hard to comprehend something that looks like this....... "sooooooo diz ze prob. ths guy like likez this chik and like sooooooo not my type. whts up wit ths shizZ??" People are just lazy and dont' want to take the extra five seconds to type out the complete word.

I hate it with a passion... I hate leet speech... Its a waste of time and it makes people talk stupid and when they type they look stupid as well. Don't slaughter the english language with BS.
