Technically kilograms are used to measure mass and this is not the same as weight. 1000 kg on the earth is 1000 kg on the moon and 1000 kg on mars.
But assuming we are talking about the earth, then the usual conversion is 2.2 lbs per kg. So this is approximately 2200 lbs.

most SI units have measurements determined by nature, like the meter is the distance light travels in 1/3x10^8 seconds, but the official kilogram is the mass of a certain platinum-iridium alloy block in France.

1,000 kilograms weighs 1,000 kilograms!
Are you asking how many pounds that would be? If so, 2,200.
