I would fire him in a heartbeat. No amount of convenience is worth the depreciation of your grandpa. He deserves someone who will help him kindly, and speak to him respectfully. There are people out there who caregive who are like that. THey do it because they love it, not becuase it's easy money (whcih it isn't). Fire that yardbird, and start advertising for new help. Solicit the help of family and friends to fill in in the interim.

Absolutely do not put up with some guy who feels like it's okay to yell and be rough with your grandpa! Tell your grandma that BOTH she and your grandpa deserve better.

fire the a** hole. there are plenty of caregiver out there who are working in nursing home for minimum wage, when they have the qualifications to do more, like private duty care. there is definitely someone out there who would love to care for your grandpa, and make 16 an hour, who would treat him with respect. fire the abusive guy. he doesnt deserve your money.

Fire him at once. If you've observed abusive behavior, his behavior is likely ten times worse when he thinks he's out of the public eye. There are many people willing to arrange their schedules to accomodate your gandparents' needs..that's the condition of being employed, and with a little research you can find someone more emotionally suited to caring for people without hostility. Good luck in this regard; once you decide to do this, please do so quickly.

She needs to find someone else. She should call the local health and human services or family services office and see if they can refer her to a service that she can hire for help. There's no reason she should have to keep this cretin on at that price.
