You could become a travel writer - it's not strictly the travel industry. Or you could work for the UN or a non-governmental group or charity - you'd be working in developing countries for a good cause. Or you could teach English abroad.

Be a courier. They take things that need to be delivered on time, things that are too valuable or important to trust to Fed Ex, etc. (insurance covers only so much; a lot of the time, the amount of insurance is based upon weight).
Just check around for couriers. Also, sometimes people will send a child or elderly adult who just needs supervision and needs someone to accompany that person.
