What should I do?

I recently had an impromptu date with a man I have been friendly with for a while. The date ended pretty heated and I have seen him at our usual hangout since then and we have hung together but he doesn't call, etc. he has two children that he has pretty often and is not always "free". Do you think it would be alright to send a card with my number in it and a note to give me a call sometime? or would it be better to ask a friend (mutual) for his phone number and call or send a text message. I'm also open for suggestions.

He's already had what he wanted, and made his decision..
