NO!
Don't limit your calories---just start eating better.
eat 5 small meals a day. Make sure you are limiting your carbs (basically anything "white" no flour, no sugar). Cut out anything "bread".
Drink tons and I mean TONS of water. NO soda, NO fruit juices. Water and coffee and tea only. Not even diet soda.
Eat lots of vegetables and lean meats only. NO lunchmeats, NO fast food.
Exercise 30 min a day (aerobic exercise) even if it's just a walk around the block.

Do this and you'll lose a lot more than just 7 pounds in 21 days, girl!

Good luck

I just had a baby and have been on NutriSystem for 2 1/2 weeks now to lose the weight. I've lost five pounds so far.

The portions in the plan are about the size of my baby's solid food, 7 1/2 oz. I add a salad or a serving of veggie's with it. I eat apples, drink lots of water to stay full and chew a lot of sugar free gum to keep from snacking.

I consume anywhere between 900 and 1400 calorie's and then my count for the day will be less than that after exercise.

400 a day seems very low. I know it's tempting to just stop eating, but you don't have to do that. You can still eat, just make sure they're healthy calorie's and make sure that you don't overeat and that you are working out.

It is difficult for some people to lose in such a short amount of time. Also, the less you have to lose it seems the harder it is for other's to notice. By other people looking at me they cannot tell the five pounds. I can feel it, but it's hard to see yet.

Are you more concerned with the scale or with how you look? Don't ever worry about what the scale says if you're in a healthy weight range, which you seem to be. Focus on how you feel and look in your clothes.

Remember that it is a lifestyle and if you don't practice it, you'll just put it right back on.

Uhun... not gonna work. The more you 'starve yourself' (which is effectivly what you will be doing) the lower your metabolism will become, so that when you even start eating a tiny bit more than when you crash diet you will put on enormous amounts of weight as a result. It is terribly unhealthy to only take in 400 calories, you should eat around 1000 at LEAST! If you eat 1000-1500 calories and work out for about 1hr-2hrs a day every day for the 21days you should loose a good amount of weight, but seriously, don't crash diet because it's addictive, and unless you want to spend a portion of your life in rehab or hospital it's really not going to do you any good!
Good luck with your weight loss but don't do anything stupid,
xx

believe me, suddenly consuming 400 calories a day will not work. the mind and body will not allow it, you will binge, and you will binge badly....

and its not possible anyway. your metabolism will slow waaayyy down after a few days, and then you're really screwed, cause then ur body doesnt burn as many calories. how then, can a person lose weight? (other than exercising 7 hours a day...)

the trick is to graze throughout ur day. i just started doing this and im shedding pounds pretty fast. for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, consume no less than 200 calories but no more than 300. then, at every hour in between these "meal" times, grab a 50-100 calorie snack (something good for u tho! like grapes, apples, carrots, low cal granola bar, yogurt, milk) by the end of the day, u consume around 1500 calories, maybe a lil less, and you dont go hungry.

it will be hard if you normally have three meals a day cause then u usually have like 500-700 calories per meal or more, and what i'm telling u is to cut that number way down....so to make it easier, get a tall glass of ice water, and after every single bite of food u take, drink a sip of water. it makes u feel like ur eating twice sometimes even three times as much. and u get full fast.

exercise will really really help too. go for a 20-30 minute walk, or at random times throughout the day: do sprints! for like, two minutes each time or something (i do these. they're quick and easy)

good luck

I agree with the first guy too. This won't be a permanent fix.
You have to change your lifestyle.
Here's some ideas:

Losing weight:
1. Do something that gets your heart rate up a bit like, walking, running, biking, and swimming.
2. Eat Whole, Organic foods like: Broccoli, Cabbage, Organic Brown Rice, Spinach, Sweet Potato, Apples, and other fruits and vegetables in their Natural State.
3. Avoid eating corn, white bread, white rice, candy, sodas, chips, and anything else that you already know you shouldn’t be eating.
4. Drink clean water as your beverage of choice. Avoid Fruit drinks and fruit juices (unless YOU juice them yourself)
5. Stop smoking, drinking beer & wine, and drinking coffee.
6. Get 8 hours of sleep each night.
7. Hang out with people who want to be healthy.

Tone up the muscles:
1. Join a gym and get a trainer.
2. If you’re short on cash, start a light stretching & yoga regimen.
3. Do push-ups, and light dumbbell curls for the upper body.
4. As I said above, walk, run, swim, and or bike.
5. Take an aerobics class, a yoga class, or some other fitness class.
6. Join the local YMCA..

I don't recommend this!
A safe rate of weight loss is 1-2 pounds per week. You are proposing to consume only 400 calories per day. The minumum number of calories needed to meet basic nutritional needs without exercise is 1200-1500. You are putting yourself in a serious health risk. Your weight loss will be a combination of water and muscle tissue, not fat! When you don't consume enough calories to meet your bodies needs, you go into "starvation mode." It is the bodies wy of holding on to every calorie it can to meet basic body functions. This will make it especially difficult to lose weight in the future, and you may even gain weight by eating less.
A safer approach would be to eat a well balanced diet, and exercise on a regular basis. By exercise I mean perform cardio 5-6 days a week for 30-60 minutes at a time. Be sure to drink plenty of water and get enough sleep.

I don't think that it will because if your body senses that it is getting too little amounts of food it will start storing things and your weight could go the other way. Find someone who has been on Weight Watchers and follow that. I swear by it. You could easily lose 7 pounds in three weeks and not be hungry. Portion control is a huge part of it and write down everything that goes into your mouth. You will be surprised at how much really does go in that should/could be eliminated.

That is dangerous especially at 14. a 7lb loss sounds healthy but, crash dieting is NOT the way to get there. Talk to your doctor or family. MAybe a 2,500 a day would be good, but not 400, it's way to dangerous! GOOD LUCK!

400 calories a day is technically starving and your metabolism will switch into starvation mode and store everything you eat. a normal diet is not 3000, it's about half that. stop drinking sodas and cheap sugar and jog.

won't work. your body will go into starvation mode and store the fat instead of get rid of it! Eat at least 1400 calories a day, but make sure its healthy stuff. and exercise a lot and you can do it!
