It sounds like he could have worms. The worm is probably taking all the food he eats, so it's like your dog isn't eating anything so he is really skinny. You should take him to the vet and get him checked to make sure.

He just has a fast metabolism. Everyone has a friend that eats non-stop fast food, BBQ and fatty foods and still stays skinny as a twig. Its the same with dogs, my girlfriends dog is skin and bones even though it eats anything and everything. Any fat your dog eats probley just gets burned off from all the fast running and jumping around you said he does.

What are you feeding him? How long has it been since he has been wormed? You should probably take him to the vet, the vet can worm him, make sure he is up-to-date with vaccines, make sure that he isn't sick, recommend good brands of dog food. Good luck with him!

it would help to know what kind of dog he is but if he's as active as he sounds, that could be part of it. i'd take him to the vet though. find out what a normal wt should be for him and have him tested for worms.

Sounds like a parasite. I'd get him to the vet pretty soon. Don't even bother with any over the counter wormers, it's much more complicated then all that. Besides it would be something else.

the same with my dog. we had the same problem so we took him to the vet and the thing is...he was growing so his belly fat didnnt last long.the vet said that this happens to alot of dogs.u dont need to worry.but.... if it looks like hes not growing and he not jumping as much then yes i would agree with u and ur naighbor that he might have worms so then u MIGHT wanna get it checked.

good luck!

If you love him so much, spend the extremely worth it vet fee and take him to a professional who can not only tell you what is wrong with him. They could also prescribe a diet for weight management. Don't wait another minute!!!! This could kill him if you are not careful.

It's normal for young, hyper male dogs to be skinny. As long as he's otherwise healthy, don't worry about it.

He might have worms.. But it might be the breed of dog you have.. Might be that he needs to be neutered?? Might also be the dog food you are feeding.
