i know this sounds stupid, but when i fly to NYC i do not want to see the statue of liberty on the plane, I want to see it, well, not on the plane, ahaha and i was wondering, if you could fly into one of the 3 main airports [JFK,LGA, EWR] and not see it, or would i have to sit on the left side & not look out the window? thank you

it depends where you are coming in from and what path the plane is taking into the airport. the NYC airports are actually nowhere near the statue of liberty, but there is no guarantee of the flight pattern. EWR is much closer to it.

Have you thought about closing your window or your eyes or even not looking out the window?

I have flown into and out of NYC for 20 years and have NEVER gotten a view of the Statue. But, since the FAA is considering changing the flight patterns to some of the airports, there's no guarantee at all anymore.

Get an aisle seat - this way it won't be a worry at all.
