I make this all the time. My kids love it.
Firehouse Chili Taste - and you don't need a fire-hose to cool down!
INGREDIENTS:
2 lbs. lean ground beef (or whatever meat substitute like turkey)
1 medium onion, chopped
2 tbsp. garlic powder
3 tbsp. Seasoned Salt
4 tbsp. ground cumin
1 large can kidney beans, drained (dark or light)
1 large can pinto beans, drained
1 can diced tomatoes
1 can tomato sauce
1 tbsp. hot sauce (Frank’s Red Hot is probably best in this recipe)
DIRECTIONS:
Combine in large skillet: ground beef, onion, garlic powder, 2 tbsp. seasoned salt, and 2 tbsp. ground cumin.
Brown the meat and drain any fat.
Add: kidney beans, pinto beans, tomatoes, tomato sauce, hot sauce, 2 tbsp. ground cumin, and 2 tbsp. seasoned salt. Mix with large spoon and cover and simmer over low heat, stirring occasionally for approximately 30 minutes.
OPTIONAL TOPPINGS: Top with more chopped onion or pepper-jack cheese.
SERVES (8)
Prep time: 10 minutes The most you have to do is chop an onion and open a few cans.
Total Cook time: 40 – 50 minutes (most of which the chili is simmering)
During the cook time would be a good time to whip up some Jiffy® corn bread and pop it in the oven. The corn bread should finish about ten minutes before the chili. The two just go great together!
Enjoy.

The first guy above gave a very nice and simple recipe. Just to add some extra ease... Do this recipe in a Crock-Pot... simply brown the meat on the stove and then toss it in the pot with the other ingredients. Set the pot on LOW and leave it there all day. You can leave the house... go to work... whatever. When you get back the chili is ready to go.

EASY ONE-POT CHILI
1 1/2 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion, chopped
1 can tomato juice (NOT V-8)
1 large can diced tomatoes
3 cans dark red kidney beans
chili powder
salt and pepper
Brown ground beef with salt and pepper and chopped onion; drain. Add tomato juice, tomatoes (go ahead and throw in the juice from these cans, too) and beans, with liquid. bring to simmer, then add chili powder until it turns a rich, reddish-brown color. Allow to simmer for a while longer, then taste. If it doesn't have enough kick for you, add more chili powder, or use what I use; A few splashes of habenero sauce. If all you can taste is the tomatoes, add a little more salt, or a few pinches of table sugar.

I don't have the exact measurements but brown your ground meat with onion, if you like onion. You could also add green or red peppers if you like them. Drain the grease off. Add tomato sauce. One or two cans, depending on how much you want to make. Add beans if you like them. Add salt, pepper and chili powder. Heat to a boiling then simmer for about 5 minutes. Really easy.

Most of the above answers look good but to make it great don't forget to add beef stock. Cubes are fine.
