Depends on what you want in a dog but for my money...
You can almost never go wrong with a Golden.
Sweet natured, big hearted, smart and just a joy to be owned by.
There are many breeds that are as good as a Golden but none better.

Personally, I love Welsh Corgis (especially if they're mixed breeds) because they are amazing little dogs that love to be at your side. However, I wouldn't say to choose a dog that you don't like. Spend time with both breeds to determine which you'd rather have. Also, look at the health problems that is common with each breed. Be sure to do a little research to see which would better suit your lifestyle. There are benefits to both smaller and larger dogs, but you are the only one that can determine which would be best for you. Good luck on making your decision.

That depends whether you want a small or large dog. My mom has a Corgi and she is FANTASTIC with kids. I don't know about Golden Retrievers, but they seem friendly.

Corgi if you want something that can come in the house they do shed. I have a friend that breeds them. They are very agressive if you feed them together if you were to get two. Very sweet and loving dogs.

Cardigan Welsh Corgi's. I don't care for Pembroke's. Love the Cardi's color varieties.
However, I do own a Golden.
So, unbiasedly, I'd say...BOTH.

Corgis. Did you know that many of these little dogs have lost their lives defending their families? They have the hearts of lions and act like much bigger dogs than they are. I love these little guys.

Only you can determine which dog will suit you best. You need to research each breed & determine which would fit your lifestyle best.
Look at temperament, activity level, barking, etc.
