How many people here would have their own mother as their doctor?

I say that the son was in a coma for 8 years and in the meantime, was made a ward of the court. After years of petitioning the government, the doctor was finally allowed to adopt the child.

The coma explains the phrase "fully awake".
And why would any mother need to say: "you are my son". Wouldn't the son already know it? If there was an adoption during the coma, it would be necessary for the new father to explain it to the recently revived boy.
