Kingston and Lake Katrine are in Ulster County. If I remember correctly it's about 20 miles between the two. As far as motel, 9W is your best bet.

The distance between the two is VERY small. My friend and her husband lived in Lake Katrine and worked in Kingston, and it took them less than 15 minutes to commute to work, According to mapquest - it's less than 5 miles from one to the other. There's a large number of hotels and motels in the area. There's a Holiday Inn, a Super 8, a Hampton Inn, a Mariott Courtyard, and some other mom-and-pop style places.
9W is a highway, not a motel.
