One first class stamp.

Only one, assuming a standard size letter under an ounce. One 41 cent stamp will get it there. Or, four 10 cent stamps and a 1 cent stamp. Or really any combination that adds up to 41 cents, the cost of a first class letter.

Just out of curiosity, why did you ask this in cars and transportation, commuting?

The postage rates recently went up.

If you use a skinny normal envelope, of the kind that most bills come to us in, and only have a couple pieces of ordinary paper in there, then 41 cents will do it for you.

You can use search engine to get to US Postal Service 9USPS) web site to get rates for heavier envelopes and anything leaving the USA.

Stamps come in all kinds of denominations.

If you have a pre-stamped envelope, then you don't need any stamps because postage is pre-printed on the envelope (you can buy envelopes like that at the post -office) If you like 1 cent stamps, then you need 41 of them.

Depends on how heavy the letter is. If it is a normal business sized envelope and not too fat, just one 41 cent stamp will do it.

Just one regular first class stamp. If the envelope is bigger than a regular size than probably two or three.

One, unless it's an oversized envelope.

What are stamps up to now...41 cents?

Just 41 cents, unless it is heavier than the standard letter.

It all depends on the envelope. Postage is by nation, not state to state. In other words, the same as it would cost from one town in VA to another in VA. You didn't know that?
