Why don't you each cut your cakes and feed each other a piece of your cake (Bride cuts her cake and feeds groom a piece of the "Bride's cake" and vie versa). It could be very symbolic. Otherwise, I would cut the bride's cake, the more typical wedding cake. The groom's cake is usually cut up and sent home in small boxes as a favor, traditionally.

Good luck and best wishes!

Typically, the big ceremonial cutting of the cake is with the traditional fancy wedding cake (the big white one).

I know of couples who have done an official cutting from both cakes, though, so it's up to you.

I paintings at a place that does weddings. We had a pair who had a chocolate fountain for their dessert yet no wedding ceremony cake. additionally they had a chocolates table for extra dessert possibilities. extremely doing the classic cake reducing, they did a "first dip" with the chocolate fountain. i presumed it replaced into rather lovable. i do no longer think of an ice cream cake is a robust thought. the only time it replaced into accomplished effectively (the place I paintings) the owner of the ice cream shop replaced right into a customer on the marriage and set it up throughout the time of the cocktail hour so it did no longer soften till now it replaced into decrease and served staggering after dinner. infrequently all people observed it because of the fact it replaced into being assembled throughout the time of the time maximum visitors could see the cake and then all and sundry sat down for dinner. you do no longer prefer to spend a pile of money in this massive, eye-catching cake and then have it take a seat in a freezer till staggering till now you do the reducing.
