okay first off i have never heard of dough balls me my dad and my brother throw a cast net and thats the easiest way to catch them you can find them in any fishing store but if you dont want to throw a net ive always heard rabbit food like the kind you get at a animal store because mullet only eat alge and stuff like that or you could get a trouble hook weigh it down find a school and try to hook one ive heard that works good to but really throwing a cast net is much easier ....hope it helped good luck

In New York, the mullets usually move out of the back bays in September when the weather cools. The only way to catch them and use them as bait for striped bass and bluefish is with cast net.

dough balls and a gold size 10 or 12 hook under a cork will work fine but if you want to catch em fast use a cast net!

To make doughballs mix flour bread and cornmeal then dampen them (not to squishy) or dampen wheaties. when you are fishing, just form a tight ball around the hook
