I really like this guy who's in band with me. I like music and he's good at playing his instrument. Band is pretty much my life as well as high grades, though I wish I could be involved/interested in other things. But this guy is. He does paint ball, loves football and NASCAR and knows a lot about the newest electronics and guns. I could talk to him about music, but that's not his passion as is these other things. I'm totally cool with people liking cars and guns and football, I just don't have time to learn and know things about those subjects myself. So how can I get a nice conversation with him that's deeper than a "how are you?" or "how's band?" ???

Read the sports section of the paper. Or online news, they have sports sections. If there's something you don't understand, ask him. If you follow what is going on in sports, you'll at least know what season we're in, who the major players are and have something to talk about.
Do a little research on guns. Handguns or rifles? Research a few guns and tellhim a friend of yours is thinking about guying that model and ask what he thinks of it.
Watch a game and discuss it with him the next day.
Go to stupidvideos.com and search paintball massecre. OMG! Then ask him if he's seen it. If he hasn't, tell him he has to and get his email and mail it to him.

ask him about football or nascar. tell him you want to watch one with him so he can explain it to you. Guys love that. Theres still about 14 races left for nascar and training camp just started for football.

just have sex with him and then there wont be no need for talking about music or football or cars...y'all will have a subject in common to talk a lot about and plus its something you can do together and have fun doing.

Learn enough about those subjects to ask at least one question--and don't act as if your an expert.
ask your question.. listen to his answer.. form another question based on that answer.. and on and on...

That is how conversations work-- when you don't know you ask. Look and act interested..
