Ya, i have gone through the most of the answer given by the people with their ego/unthoughtful comments. As far as justice is concerned its true that its speedy and approximately to the point. But often their are cases where the punishment awarded are either too less or unjustified. In such cases the individuals of spl lower ranks dont have the guts to hire civil advocate or reappeal in high court if he wants to continue in service , he would be tortured and his life could be made miserable.
There are instants where the great guns involved are left scot free, by deleating the evidences.
But here too, if the judge is appointed from high court, his accomodation and other facility is done at OM, which would give ample time to other party to get the justice as per their wishes.
Its just a suggestion, its not going to be the rule, one should answer takeing this thing in to consideration.

A key ingredient of military justice is the speed with which justice is dispensed! And, that is very important to the military administration and maintenance of highest standards of discipline in the services! If you bring authorities from outside into the military justice machinery, the leadership image is bound to get affected! Moreover, a JA is not the kind of puppet you make out the JA to be!

Court Martial by its very name is a military court. Why would a civilian hold any power in that court. Read up on the UCMJ Then if think you need to, ask the question again.
