The paradox is that there's no 1+1+1, there's only ONE.
There's no trinity, there's just Allah.

While it is undeniably true that 1+1+1=3, Christian theologians have never had much respect for the factual truth. Only Christianity has the arrogance to imagine it is exempt from reality and assert that 1+1+1=1.

You are right but according to christians it is still one,
Christians say that: "The Father(F) is God, the Son(S) is God, and the Holy Ghost(H) is God, but the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Holy Ghost, and the Holy Ghost is not the Father". In simple arithmetic and terms therefore, if F = G, S = G, and H = G, then it follows that F = S = H, while the second part of the statement suggests that F ¹ S ¹ H (meaning, "not equal"). Isn’t that a contradiction to the Christian dogma of Trinity in itself ?
It doesn't make sense, with respect to all christians.

Nope, 1+1+1=3. Hmmmm, could you be hinting at a disagreeing opinion with Trinitarians?? :D

Ok, so being that you categorized this question under Religion and Spirituality, I'm guessing that you're referring to what we call the Trinity. True, the word "trinity" never appears in the bible however its teaching is -- that GOD is the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit -- that these three are one and agree as one. It's not something that can be easily explained with * human intellect yet it's a core belief in biblical Christianity.
Instead of looking at it as 1+1+1=???, maybe look at it differently, such as 1x1x1=1.
* NICE answer, Mike O.
* As to Proud's answer, if F=G, and S=G, and H=G, then it is true that F=S and so on. Jesus even said that "the Father and I are one".
* As to Notfooled's answer, I agree with you. This person is only seeking to argue the bible.

It's elementary, my dear watson:
(1 + 1) + 1 = 3
1 + 1 + 1 = 3
IT'S 3 - and I'd certainly challenge him on that - and if he argues with you, I'd definately want to know how he obtained his teaching degree!

It depends on what algebra system you're working in.
The answer could be 0 or 1 or 2 or 3. Or perhaps purple people eater.
