I lift weights every day (except the weekend) and it is so good! :)
But you heard right!
Lifting weights (if you're looking to build any kind of muscle mass) generally causes your muscle fibers to rip. Muscles have great memory, so they rebuild themselves. The more they think you need to lift, the thicker they'll be when they rebuild. The the 24-48 hours of rest between lifts is for your muscles to recuperate. Not giving your muscles time to rest could overwork them or cause strains. That's not good, because it'll put you out for a few days, if not weeks. Muscles begin to atrophy or lose their mass after 2 weeks of inactivity. You don't want to overdo it and lose the effects of your hard work.
So why do a lot of people lift every day?
They alternate! I find the best plan is to break up your workouts into at least 3 regimens.
For example:
Day 1 - Arms, Chest
Day 2 - Quads, Hams
Day 3 - Abs, Back, Calves, Shins
Try it out. Tweak it. See what works best for you.

You should not workout the same muscle groups everyday, however... I see some people at the gym who are not using very much weight and not straining themselves much at all. In this case, working out with weights every day is fine and will only have a small overall effect. To me, it's like a painter using the brush every day or a barber cutting hair every day. But, if you are pushing yourself and actually working your muscles, then you should change your routine so that your body has time to repair and build up muscle.

Hi,
I've tried so many different diets in the last 10 years that I can say now, they don't work!
A few months ago, I came across a great product for weight loss and like many others I was skeptical about it. But I really wanted to lose weight and I tried it. The results were excellent and I lost 20 pounds in 2 months. I felt fantastic and I dropped another 5 pounds safely. That's why I recommend you check this product at http://www.fit-thin.info where they have a free trial and you only pay 4.95$ shipping and handling.
Good luck!

If you are lifitng total body every day than you're going to wind up only breaking down the muscle instead of making it stronger. The muscles need 24 hours to recop after working them out.
it's not "everyday" that will hurt you - it's working the SAME sets of muscles every day. If you do upper body one day - let it rest and do lower body the next. That way you still get a work out in - but you are letting muscles get a rest.

Working the same muscles every day isn't good because they need time to recover and repair. So, if you want to life daily, work arms one day, legs the next, and alternate.
