Citing religious texts results in circular logic which is flawed.

Example: The Bible says that God is real and God inspired the Bible.
Example II: The Quran says that god is real and god inspired the Quran.

I am looking for proof of any god.

Please no jargon about how I am an evil atheist, no attacks on evolution or science as I didn't mention evolution or science and please no rambling emotional testimonies about how you felt god as your feelings are not hard proof of anything.

Stating that the complexity of the universe is enough proof is also not proof of anything.

Saying that you have to be filled with the holy spirit to understand also means nothing. I used to be a devout Christian until I realized that I was wasting my life.

Stating that you need faith is also invalid, in the words of nihilist philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche "A casual stroll through the lunatic asylum shows that faith does not prove anything."

I await your answers, keep it nice please.

Thank you.

Here are the facts that you might be missing.

1) God proves Himself to who He wants to prove Himself to.
2) The source is important; as important as you found it to provide sources for what you brought up. So why are you not willing that Christians would use their source? That is kind of obtuse, don't you think? I could say anything about what Christianity is and be totally wrong. But if I show my source, you can check me on why I said what I said.
3) God is real because His Spirit shows us things. The Bible is edified in this relationship. He validates His word through His Spirit.

You don't have to believe that in order to know why we say the same things at times, and quote scripture frequently. I am telling you so that you can understand that it is not always circular thinking. Some of us are better at stating the things in the Bible than others. Some are new and untrained, and some have their gifts in other things, not in Apologetics.

If you never had the Holy Spirit as a guide through life, then you are probably right in getting away from Christianity. I know that God does not want most people. So I don't try to convert people who are not even interested in knowing God.

Just letting you know.

Look aroundyourself. What explanation doyou have for the miracle of the oceans not flowing over all the land? There's enough water out there to drown us all yet it stays put. Do you think the big bang created all the flowers, trees animals, etc. Pretty interesting theory there. Did you ever think about the amazing and complicated human body? Men are still trying to copy it just like Dr. Frankenstein and still failing miserably. Why? Because no one but our maker knows how we aremade. No one can make a tree a green bean or even dirt. Try to explain to me what other source could possibly have created such a grand design.

I don't think someone can prove the existence of God. It is a matter of faith. Do I believe in God? Absolutely. Why? I feel his presence in my life. I believe in Him because I have heard his voice within the depths of my soul. I have heard his voice with my own ears on three occasions. I have felt his hand upon my heart and upon my skin comforting me through hard times. I have seen visions when I was very young before I understood who Christ was or anything about Him, yet I saw Him and knew that he was real. I cannot tell you to go to a verse in the Bible to show you that God is real. I can only tell you my experience and pray that you believe it. Why do I believe in God? Because He believes in me.

Actually, both the Torah and the xian OT preserve one ancient example: The Book of Job.

It's probably the earliest text of the OT, and seems to predate both Abraham and Judaism, since it makes no reference to either. One thing it *does* do, however, rather startlingly well---once you get past the absurd story itself---is argue the existence of god from the natural world itself.

You may or may not buy it, but it's a logical starting place.

Ok, lets think about this...

If the Universe "was" created by a Big Bang, where did the material come from, and what made the bang happen in the first place.

If there was a big bang, God must have created all the material for it to happen and God must have made the bang happen also.

Just a thought...

Peace...

Descartes tried it, along with Leibniz. They do the argument from necessity. Spinoza's argument is best in my opinion, but his concept of God is different than what most people define it as. Look in Spinoza's "Ethics" or his "Emindation on the Intellect."
