Im making this for my daughters 3rd bday and I was wondering if its any good.It is blue jello in a clear bowl with gummy fish floating in it to look like an aquarium or ocean scene. I read two rating from a website and one said it was good and the other said it was terrible. Has anyone tried / made this?????

I havn't tried it... but it sound like a really really cute idea. I assume you would be using the normal jell-o recipe, so it would taste just like jello always tastes.

there's alot of different flavors in blue...
I've done this once but i did the bottom scene 1st candy rocks (nerds did great) then i filled with Half jello waited 2hrs then added the fish in the Slightly molded jello then filled the rest of the jello so it looked as if the fish was swimming... my friend did this but she used fake plastic fishes just so there was a Prize inside and it didn't melt like the gummy ones did.

there's also gummy sharks now.just be creative there's NO wrong way to do it and Pick a Flavor you love and if its NOT blue you can always use dye and make it blueish.

Edit- melted gummies taste like gummies it only affects the look NOT the taste.. and yes they sometimes melt! you have to pour boiling hot water in jello dissolve then add a cup of cold water therefore some of the water is still hot enough to melth the gummies.

I would recommend not using the blue jello. Sometimes it is so dark you can't see the fish. What I did was use a clear jello, and add just a bit of blue to it.

Also, make sure your fish are not to soft. They tend to dissolve to fast. I think the ones that I found didn't work were the swedish fish. The regular gummy fish work great.

Also, for fun, you can add candy rocks (the ones that look like real rocks) on the bottom, they look really cute. I also used gummy worms to make sea snakes.

Last thing, don't make it to early. Wait until the last possible time you have time.

i work in a preschool, and we just made these! the teacher made a big bowl of blue jello with the gummy fish in it.....the blue was not too dark, and the fish did not melt. she served it in clear cups. first a layer of crushed graham crackers, the a scoop of the jello mix. each cup was an individual ocean.....sand on the bottom and water and fish on top. the kids loved it!

i have never tried it, but i am sure your daughter would love it. i know my daughter would. i would maybe make a backup dish for just in case the adults there don't like it. but as far as kids go they usually like anything that looks interesting. and there are a few different jellos to choose from that are blue.

sounds like it would be a hit at the party though,
