A bit over a year ago I got a ticket for which I went to court and pleaded reckless driving in order not to get points on my license. I paid the higher fine and thought that was it.

Now I am getting charged an insurance surcharge which shows those points! (I got 2 other traffic tickets since).
How do I get the points removed?

The notice came from the state not my insurance company.

I think you've been had. I've never heard of a state that didn't have points associated with a reckless driving charge. General rule of thumb is that if it's a moving violation it has points.

Just because a ticket doesn't give you points, doesn't mean your insurance company won't hold it against you. I don' thave any license points, but my insurance company says I have three existing tickets and that's enough for them to raise my rates. I would talk to you insurance broker and see what the deal is, that if you are getting charged for the point or getting charged because you have a ticket. The first you can do something about, the latter you have to wait till it clears from your report.

You can't. Reckless driving comes with points as well. Probably a lot.
