If you believe in God, what is your thought on dinosaurs? When were they in existence? If you do not believe in God, when do you think they were in existence?

My thought is that obviously they existed! There is so much proof. But, I question as to when? I am a person of faith, so I think perhaps as one person stated that God's seven days was more like 700 years or something. They existed, became extinct and then God created man. I would like some more insight or thoughts though!!

The dinosaurs would have been created on the 5th, 6th day of creation. They would have been around and living on earth at the same time as man. They very well were place on Noah's ark (young adults) and made it to the other side of the flood. The change in the environment, caused by the flood very well reduced their number and in time many became extinct. However it is possible that legends of dragons, may have been exauated stories of dinosaurs (the name 'dinosaur' was only coined in 1841).

Some Christians believe that Job 40:15-24 is describing a Dinosaour. That it could be a Brachiosaurus. Some have throught this was an Elephant or hippo, however Elephants and hippos tails are not simular to cedar trees

I think that when God created the animals he made dinosaurs and theres no telling how long the animals where here before adam and eve where created. Then when adam was created and he named all the animals he named the dinosaurs.then when eve came in the picture and they sinned and where put out the garden of eden the dinosaurs stayed in Eden because they were still perfect.I dont think there were meat eaters because there was no eating of meat until after Adam and Eve were kicked out. Jus because they have sharp teeth doesnt mean they ate meat. I dont think that they were here to eat each other in the beginning. I think some may have been destroyed during the flood and since Noah was only told to bring two of every clean animal(male and female) into the ark they could have gone extinct in bible times because the species jus wasnt anymore.

They are animals that died. They have given us a direction to look as to the validity of the Earth being older than tradition would have us believe. IF the dating methods are even close, then the Earth has been around longer than tradition would allow, and we need to wake up to the fact that the Bible allows for this.

If you want to know more about that, then look up the "Gap Theory of Genesis 1:1 - 1:2".

There are practically no Christian sites that talk about it favorably. But I would present it as possible, and I also think that it holds some truth. I do not agree with some of the arguments against it. Some of the arguments are actually non sequitur to the presentation of it.

So check it out and let the Holy Spirit guide you to understanding. No matter what I say, let God guide you to understanding. God isn't always going to agree with the traditional ways of men.

Dinosaurs ruled the earth for almost 200 million years and became extinct about 65 million years ago. These are the facts and no amount of fudging of biblical time tables will help you explain the falsehoods of the bible.

I don't see how knowing that dinosaurs exist interferes with believing in God, unless you take the creation story literally. I'm under the impression that the story is just a bunch of symbolism. Like, he didn't literally create the world in 7 days. He just kind of got it all started, and then evolution took care of the rest.

I think they are cool to watch on the discovery channel or something, but they would suck if they was still around, because we would get ate by alot of them. I am 25, but I seriously don't see why people thinks they are so cool. Yeah, I did when I was five and my 6 year old son thinks they are cool, other than that, no.. lol.

I am a Christian and I think dinosaurs are most interesting. I have a dinosaur rib bone in my study that I found in the hills. The whole dinosaur was there (bones only) and it was amazing.

As an atheist I believe that they were the dominant species of the planet prior to their extinction. I'm not good with figures so I couldn't give you a date I'm afraid. Fossils tell the story, along with carbon-dating and the developmental stage of those fossils.

I believe in God and Dinosaurs.

I do NOT believe the bible is the literal truth. I beleive some truth is deeper than the literal meaning of the words; the same way that fairy tales are meant to convey moral lessons despite being obviously fictional.
