The notes will be the same; eg: G A B C D E F# G for the scale of G but the fingering would be different. 6th string 3rd fret. 5th string open, 2nd, 3rd. 4th string open, 2nd, 4th, 3rd open, would be the scale of G on guitar. Hope this helps.

If you mean do they follow the same patterns and are used for the same purpose then yes they are. If you mean can you play scales that are written on the staff for violin then you have to remember that guitar music is written on octave higher than it actually sounds. So, if you are playing a part written for violin on the guitar it is sounding an octave lower than intended.

The notes are the same, but the technique is different. The tonality, in other words, of any major scale is the same across all instruments/voices, but of course, the technique for producing the scale is going to be different.
