Everytime i am in the R&S section, there are sooo many posts that say something like:

"Atheist, read this verse, now try and prove it wrong!"
"This bible verse proves there's a God!!"

And so on...

With all of the verses christians throw out every 5 minutes, at this point, i think any ahiest that have read all these posts have learned the bible better than christians. Because while 50 different people just taught atheists 50 different passages...

Those 50 Christians will still only know their 1 verse!!!

First, Not To Belittle Your Level Of Intelligence But For The Sake Of Any Other Readers Of This Answer, The Word “Atheist” Simply Means Without Belief In GOD Or Gods. Secondly, It Is Common For Many Of The “More Intellectual Or Scientific Thinking” People To Become Skeptical About The Numerous Discrepancies And Conflicting Teachings Concerning GOD And Jesus Because Unfortunately Anyone Who Can Read And Speak Can Be Considered A Preacher Or Teacher Or Authority Of “The Word” While Many Of Those Same Are Truly Agnostic Teachers Themselves And Their Interpretations Of “The Word“ Frustrate Some Of Those “More Intellectual Or Scientific Thinking“ People. Unfortunately, Some Of These Same “Agnostic Readers Of The Word” Have Led Many People Unto Becoming Agnostic / Atheists. Moreover, About Those Becoming Agnostic, Truly By Definition, Everyone Is Originally Agnostic But These Are Those Who Remain Agnostic. This Really Isn’t A Religion But Rather A Confession Of Their Religious Views Or The View / Philosophy Of Religion. The Word “Agnostic” Simply Means Without Knowledge / Not Knowing (Of Spiritual Truth) And Unfortunately Only Very Few Seem To Obtain Enlightenment. However, Many Atheist Know More About The Scripture Than Most Christians But Because Of Their Not Becoming Enlightened Unto Its’ Truth But Rather Receive It Simply As It Reads. They Become Discouraged, Disgusted And Then Sometimes Adversarial Even Becoming “Militant Atheists“. Now The Term “Militant” Simply Means Someone Who Is Aggressive Or Extremely Active In The Defense Or Support Of Something That Others May Find Unacceptable. The Word Comes From Latin Sources Meaning “To Be A Soldier - In The Military”. Sadly, Some Atheist Think Of Christians As Their Adversary, Even As Idiots That Believe In Fairytales. Many Proclaimed Atheist Make Claims That Christians Are Intolerant And Not Accepting Of Them. However, Their Idea Of Tolerance And Acceptance Is For A Christian Not To Be Offended When Being Enticed With Pure Ignorance And Arrogance, In An Attempt To Engage Them Into A Debate Or Defense And If They Do Reply, In A Negative Manner, Then The Atheist Feels Validated In Their Belief Or Lack Thereof. Some Of These Atheist Really Have No Desire To, Nor Will They Hardly Read Godly Replies With Understanding Or Comprehension. Sadly Many Insincere Atheist Authors Do This, Because They Seek To Belittle Or Destroy Anyone Else’s Faith / Religion. Moreover, The True Reason That Militant Atheists Become Malicious, Venomous, Discourteous Or Offensive And Even Strive To Destroy Anyone Else’s Faith, Is Because They Want To Display Their Portrayed Intellectual Superiority. The Fact That When A Question Is Posed, Even If In Sincerity, Within Only Minutes Many Atheist Or Militant Atheists Respondents Reply With Their Infinite Knowledge And Offer Up Their Wonderful Words Of Wisdom. (Sarcasm) Some People Simply Can Not Comprehend That Your Level Of Intelligence Has Nothing To Do With Your Acceptance Of Good Over Evil Or That Even If They Deny And Oppose Something, Does Not Mean That It Does Not Exist. In Conclusion, The Fact That The Proclaimed Atheists Or Militant Atheists Takes The Time To Log In, And Enter These Types Of Sites / Questions And Answers, Continuously Shows That Their Souls Are Longing For A Truth. --- Respect Is Truly Something That Must Be Earned... Why Are Those Who Preach Tolerance, Are Often The Least Tolerant ? Why Are Those Who Say They Are Religiously Accepting, Often Accept Many Religions, Other Than Christianity ? Why Are Those Who Cry That They Are Reviled And Disrespected, Often The Same That Revile And Disrespect Those Who They Are Accusing ?

I don't think this is what they mean...

They say Atheists know the bible better because the Bible is what turned the Atheists away from religion. Some Christians were probably just born Christians and never read the Bible, EVER.

I've read the Bible through at least twice...I'm an atheist

Just because they put out one verse, doesn't mean that's all they know!!!

And also, it doesnt mean that all the athiests read all those 50 verses or whatever.

And I've never seen any questions like that, now since I think of it....
What are you trying to get at here????

When you read the bible, it's one thing to memorize the scriptures, and to know them by heart, its another to understand the passage, and try to learn what God is trying to teach. So read the bible, and learn what God is saying to you!!!!!!!!!!

\o/ Praise God!!! \o/

I am an atheist who has read the bible. I don't "know" it as well as many Christians. Because I don't grant it supernatural authorship and read it in its plain language, I don't think it's that impressive. There are so many modern quotes that illustrate things better than the bible. I don't honestly care what Leviticus said 4,000 years ago. It has no real bearing on my life. For that reason I don't think this is a very fruitful argument to make.

It is better to remain silent and thought a fool than to speak and prove it, and you've just proved that. If I quote a Scripture that illustrates my answer to a question, why does that mean I only know that one, if that was the only one I chose to use to illustrate my point? Would you rather I put to use EVERYTHING that I could use? Would you, in fact, like for me to answer your every question with EVERY PERTINENT Scripture I can find? Would you read an answer that would be that long? I doubt they would either. And even if you did, why would I include the passages that don't address your question?

Furthermore, though they can (doubtfully, but possibly) quote Scripture better than some Christians, that does not imply at all any understanding of it. Satan can quote Scripture all day long and he neither believes it nor understands it, as Jesus showed.

Those 50 Christians should know all the verses, but from experience it seems a lot gave up halfway through

Because atheists are capable of reading the Bible objectively, and not screening out the stuff that violates their predetermined beliefs (because they don't have any), they can achieve a better understanding of the Bible than most Christians.

Huh I thought they knew the bible better in the first place. Judging from christin behaivior I am convinced they stop reading before they ever get to the new testament.

Also some have actually read the whole bible that is why they are atheist now they just didn't believe anything and reading it didn't make them feel anything.

If your theory holds, then Christians know atheists beliefs/writings better than atheists do. After all, 50 atheists would be talking to one Christian.
