There is evidence that Jesus the man lived. That means nothing though. Jesus was a man, a cult leader and nothing more. There is no heaven, there is no hell, Jesus' body has long since turned to dust. There is no proof in the divinity of Jesus Christ, there is no proof in the existence of divinity.

The reason non-Christians don't believe in Jesus dying for them, is because Jesus didn't die for them. It doesn't matter what evidence you show them, it takes a loving God to open their eyes and whether those eyes are opened or not is up to God, not the atheist. If you're going to talk about who runs the universe, don't think Man can push any buttons. He's not authorized to be in the Control Tower.

As many others before me have stated, proof of the existence of Jesus is a far cry from proof of him dying for my non-existent sins.

I have been asking for proof for years, and have recieved none. I have actively searched for those proofs myself, and have found none. Jesus was caught, convicted, and executed accordingly. According to the Bible, he did several acts which were done previously by Buddha, implying that much of his life, as dictated by the Bible was a lie. There is evidence however, that he was born in Nazereth (not Bethlehem), in July (not December). Hell? Heaven? Life is not that simple believe it or not. What is considered morale and immorale is debatable. The truth Bible is definately also debatable.

There is non-Biblical evidence that Jesus existed, that's true. There's also very strong evidence that Hitler existed, so why don't you worship him?

Obviously we need more than evidence of someone's existence before we assume that they're a god. So should you.

Even if there is proof that Jesus existed (which a fair few people doubt), that does not mean that Jesus was god.

Because it's a christian belief and I'm not christian. I don't believe he was the son of God either. I believe he was a spiritual master and that's all. The bible was written by man and suspect since those men wanted power and control.

Even if there was a historical Jesus, that does not mean he was God incarnate, who died for our sins. If he was a man, then he could have, gasp, been just a man. A Palestinian Jewish rabbi with some good ideas, but that could be it.

Why don't you believe in the Flying Spaghetti Monster? I see all the Jesus clap-trap about as probable as His Noodley Appendage.

Because none of it is in the Hebrew Bible. Christians have borrowed heaven/hell from Zoroastrianism and have made a man into a god -- the ultimate blasphemy!
