It depends.... if they "rant" in a respectful manner i will engage them in debate. If their rant is disrespectful, rude or in any way condescending or the person seems to have a superiority complex.... I will simply delete it and move on with my life.

I usually rant back. Do you think I am just going to cower in fear over a little email rant? Granted I don't email people like that but if you email me with silly nonsense comments I am going to fire right back...and you might not like what I have to say.

It depends on the tone of the email. I generally will answer all email, as I consider it rude not too. But if it is nothing but condemnation then I will delete it. And block the sender. It is better that I don't keep a record via email of my anger and bad attitude towards them.

Post their answer in an "additional info" and direct them to it. Then tell them as long as they keep on ranting in e-mails you keep on posting it in public, until they post their rantings in public instead.

I would delete the email and probably block them from sending me email. I may send them a note, that says I will only accept their email if they can act civilized.

Usually I am puzzled because I have forgotten what caused the incident 2 seconds after it happened but they haven't, obviously...sometimes I answer and tell them to seek therapy...usually I just delete it...

If it is really nasty my daughter said to mark it as spam. Then I want have to deal with them again. Wish I could do that with real junk mail and those sales people on the phone.

Ignore 'em. Bounce their email back to them without a reply.
