In general I would say that atheist energy seems grounded in the root chakra but because they are thinkers and skeptics, they also have concentrated energy in the third eye. In general I would say that many believers have concentrated energy at the crown chakra, less energy at the root chakra, but perhaps more energy at the heart and throat chakra. Is this clash of strong energy contributing to the conflict between believers and non assuming you believe in the chakras? Could we find common ground by balancing all of our chakras especially in the areas where we are either lacking or congesting energy? Is this why buddhist and energy workers seem more at peace with all communities? Thanks for your thoughts.

I am in fact an atheist, and indeed I feel that I have a lot of energy in the Manipura (located near the navel) and the Ajna or third eye chakra (I am judging that these are my energy centers in that I feel a general build up of pressure in those areas, and they most often vary according to atypical situations).

Simply, solid, objective, empirical evidence. We have a history of presenting believable tales, like ghosts, UFO's, strange events that have no explanation, but in reality, when we go back and remove the media hype, we find out that these events did not happen. Hence, the evidence for a god or gods would have to be stronger than "I was healed (while I was in a hospital under professional care)" or other such unsupportable claims. Religions tend to make specific claims about their god or gods that would leave specific, unmistakable evidence, so that would be a start -- the only problem being that we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that all religions' claims about the formation of the universe, this planet or how life started and diversified are completely wrong.

There's a good case to be made for chakra balancing, as a routine just for keeping things all singing from the same song book. But when it comes to energy work, the third eye's the hands-down winner for focused work.

I believe Buddhism to be an overreaction to the the actual state of things. However, I have absolutely no idea what Chakra is. If a religion doesn't threaten me or my family then I am glad of its existence. Although I disagree with some of your beliefs, I support you.

What are the cellular and molecular processes that goven the Chakras? We know the processes that govern life.. but not Chakras.

I guess it's ok to say a garden is beautiful without insisting on believing there are gnomes and fairies that live at the bottom of it. (unless you've photographed them)

I don't believe in the "third eye", chakras, or spiritual "energy".
