Take the title down to the DMV and transfer it over. There should be no taxes since it is an immediate family transfer.

Well, the father needs to sign the title over to the son. And likely, you'll need a registration and title application - which you can get from your local DMV. You MIGHT need a sales tax form, depending on what state you are in.
