i want to loose 6 pounds and if i eat no junk food and drink alot of water should that work!?

You can lose weight without working out by reducing your calories. Losing weight is a formula; burn more calories than you consume. We naturally burn a certain amount of calories a day, just by living. And it takes 3500 excess calories to burn 1 lb.

For example, if your BMR is 1800 (it depends on weight, age, hieght--check the website below to calculate yours), then reduce your calories by 400 or so (you don't want to go too low because that is unhealthy and counter productive, under 1200 or so isn't good normally). So every day you have an excess of 400 calories. Times that by 7 days and that's 2800 which is just over 1.5 pounds. So to lose 6 lbs, that would take approx 4 weeks. However, depending on you, you might not be able to reduce that many calories, so it would take longer.

By exercising, you speed up the process because you are burning more calories, and you also increase your metabolism which burns calories faster. Other benefits of course are long-term health and overall fitness and satisfaction. I highly recommend a combination of exercise and diet if you want to lose weight. It's a part of a healthy lifestyle.

So in short, yes you can lose the 6 lbs without diet, but it will take longer. Depending on what you eat, you may or may not need to cut out more than junk food. Junk food alone may not reduce the calories enough to lose the weight. As for water, water is important for hundreds of reasons, including weight loss because it flushes everything out of you, but water alone isn't going to make you lose weight.

It might help (portion size is also important too). However, the best way to really jump start weight loss is exercise. It makes you look more toned and feel better too. I lost 10lbs. in the last 8 months just by increasing the amount of exercise I did from 30 to 60 minutes a day and not changing my diet at all. I also have more energy, stamina, flexibility and strength. It's really worth it.

Eat less, and move more. Do not rely on just eating less, and drinking more water. You do need to move more: walk around the block, do 50 jumping jacks and 50 sit-ups.

Don't look for an easy way to lose weight because you will eventually gain it back.

You're not very likely to lose weight without working out. But if youeat right AND exercise, the pounds should come right off.

A pound of fat is 3500 calories. If you cut 500 calories from your daily diet, you should lose about a pound a week. That means you should eat about 1500 calories a day.

However, you are still better off working out.

you will lose some - maybe 6 pounds... but it will be easier if you include working out.

Working out is good for you heart anyway... you should do it because it's good for you - not just as a tool to lose weight.

well i think that if u eat the right foods and drink a lot i think it is possible, there are certain foods that can help speed up your metabolism, and if you eat balanced meals and little bits of fruit or healthy snacks in between meals,drink a ton of water i think it would definitely help, not to mention keeping your skin clear and everything. and with the meals just don't overeat eat until your full then quit. :) i hope this helps!
