is that they make a mockary out of us christians *and im sure other religions* but mostly christians saying, " How stupid are you, why would you believe in the bible and jesus, i mean for all we know they could just be a made up story to start with."

thats funy you see, because in return we would say this, " How stupid are you, why would you believe in Evolution? i mean for all we know it could just be a made up story, have you ever seen it happen in your life time?"

i mean seriously would you rather believe that you came from Goo, then to a zoo, and then to you??? or believe that there is a Intelegent creator who made you and all that you see around you.

Please Evolutionists and Atheists, actually do research by yourzself then haveing some science teacher tell you all this and then just believe him. Now i know that you think thats what Priests do and everything. No thats not true, they actually did research archives and the bible before they told us the truth.

Good Day.!!

That's a pathetic ham fisted attempt at setting up a straw man.

The theory of Evolution does not claim Christians are fools for believing in the Bible or Jesus, it merely provides a possible explanation of the mechanics of how the world came to be.

I recommend you read the Bible for yourself instead of listening to what your pastor says you should think about it. That was the whole POINT of the reformation after all.

Take a close look at the two accounts of the creation in Genesis, specifically the days upon which different things were created. Notice that they differ, that the Bible is not consistent upon the day on which MAN was created! Many scholars take this to mean the Creation Story is meant to be taken as a myth, read as a parable like the tale of the man who built his house upon sand. Remember, that Bronze Age humans didn't have the same concept of historical documentation that we do today. They wrote to preserve a meaning and a message, not a literal account. None of this diminished the Bible in any way, it just enhances our understanding of God's Message.

Do you choose your beliefs based on what you WANT to believe or what you actually believe? How can you deny evidence that proves evolution? It makes no sense to believe what you want because it is appealing to you, as you seem to demonstrate in what you wrote here...

"i mean seriously would you rather believe that you came from Goo, then to a zoo, and then to you??? or believe that there is a Intelegent creator who made you and all that you see around you."

How can you you use the word "would" in that paragraph? Belief is not a choice of what you find agreeable to your desires and wishes and the way you'd like things to be. Sure, I'd love to believe that I am the creation of a loving God, but I don't. So what should I do? Pretend to believe based on a wish? That's deliberately living in a fairytale.

goo to zoo to you?
cute rhyming, but cliches don't cut the cake when it comes to reasoning.

I would never call Christians, as a religion, stupid. I've met many Christians, and some of them are some of the most intelligent people I've ever been fortunate enough to know, and I know that they believe in the truth of the Bible just as firmly and deeply as I believe the opposite.

It's not a question of what I'd rather believe (although what I'd rather believe just happens to be what I believe), it's a question of what's true. Whether or not it's your first choice, evolution is what happened.

Evolution happens far too slowly to see in anyone's lifetime.

Also, there's no way to say this without sounding rude (and I don't mean to be rude) but there's a "check spelling" button not far from where you're typing. Please use it.

You know what I find disturbing about this question? That it is just a huge generalisation and a wonderful example of hypocrisy at its best.

Evolution has plenty of evidence. Where is the evidence for Creation, please?

It's not a case of what I'd rather believe, it's a case of what I can believe. And I can't believe that the Bible is true. Actually, there's a lot about God that I'm not too happy with. Like that he's going to throw me into a pit of fire because I saw too many problems with his existence to serve him, while the murderer who repents can come on up.

Have you done some research yourself? If not, what's the difference between you listening to priests and Evolutionists listening to scientists? And do you seriously think that no one researched Evolution before they told us about it? Allow me to introduce Charles Darwin.

well for a start i could gripe on about grammar and spelling related to intelligence, but then i would be stooping to your level.
goo? a zoo? then me?
hmmmm
not sure zoos were around some million years ago. but i will research my facts first.
if only everyone could do so.
<"i mean for all we know it could just be a made up story, have you ever seen it happen in your life time?" - may i bat that question back to you> and ask you to answer it from your perspective.
and a good day to you
blessed be

"I find it disturbing that they are allowed to breathe"
well, as mentioned above, that is such a beautiful example of a fundie viewpoint that i am ecstatically delirious that i chose NOT to continue with religion after the age of 10.
i hope you find a happy place in this multiverse, you are in dire need of it.
blessed be

I haven't seen evolution happen in my lifetime (because it takes a while). Neither have I seen a person miraculously made out of dirt. Since we've ruled that out as a viable argument in favour of either viewpoint, lets look at the evidence.

I'd love to believe that there's an intelligent benevolent being out there looking after me. Unfortunately, I can't believe there is. It's too improbable. Since there's no creator God, life must come from a natural process. Evolution fits the evidence.

And actually, that's EXACTLY what you do, while listening to a preacher. They do the research (using one book - not examining the real world) and preach to you their findings, and you accept them as fact.

@ primoa1970:
"I find it disturbing that they are allowed to breathe" (yes, I saw you added more after this, but this was the entire content of your original answer)

How...loving of you. You're a real credit to your religion. If a belief in God makes people like you, I'm genuinely relieved I'm not a christian.

Boy, have you failed at whatever it is you were trying to accomplish! Oh, and about the "and im sure other religions"... I'm Jewish and I know that only the most strictly Orthodox Jews do not accept evolution. I have done research "by yourzself" and from what I've read, evolution is real and has happened and will continue to happen. I've read The Origin of Species and other books by Stephen Jay Gould and others and those books have convinced me of the reality of evolution. What other research would you suggest?

2007-08-01 05:21:17 · answer #7 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

actually, we do come from goo, if you really think about it. i believe life started from a higher power than us about 18 billion years ago and life has been evolving since then. there is a ton of evidence to support evolution. animals have adapted to their envirenment to survive . otherwise nothing would have been able to live in harsh places like the bottom of the ocean or the arctic ice. neanderthal people evolved using technology and made tools to kill animals for food, procreated and created the wheel. our minds evolved to include the ability to reason and thus we are now human. i wonder what we will look like in a million yrs with all our technological advances of today, that is unless God comes back to judge us and then i guess we will all be dead so it will not matter. later.

Your making a fool out of yourself, not only with your poor spelling but also with your suggestion that we shouldn't rely on other peoples' research and that we should do it ourself before we believe it and that you're still in favour of creationism.

And another thing, whoever came up with the excessively vague "goo to zoo to you" needs to be shot. It just makes you sound like an idiot who doesn't know what you're talking about. Oh wait... you are.

While, yes, I am a Christian; I also think that you just became a 'sitting duck'. You’re going to get reamed; sorry, but I have to state what is obvious. Your post is lacking in grammatically correct structure, logically organized thought process, and reasoning skills.

Edit:

I do not know whether we should take you seriously or not, I sure hope that you are purposely misspelling words; if not than home-schooling needs to be ended immediately.
