I'm having a small party and can't afford full bottles of gin, run, vodka, etc. Do these come in the small size (I believe it's called a fifth?). Just trying to have a variety of drinks while keeping it economical.

Do this - create a menu of 3 main drinks with vodka, rum & gin; email the drink selections to your guests. Get someone who knows how to pour liquor and will be the main person serving all night. Buy underrated liquors like Stolichnaya for vodka, Beefeaters for Gin and Bacardi for Rum. You will stretch your bottles 10x if you do this way, and still have a rocking party! Plus you can always tell your guests to bring their fav liquor if it's not on your list.

Not since the 80s. All distilled spirits now come in liter and fractions of a liter. For example, 500 milliliters (ml) which is a half-liter, 350 ml - approx 1/3 of a liter and 750 ml, the closest thing to the old fifth.

You can buy pints. This way, you can afford more of a variety. If you stick with fifths, you can only afford one or two types.

Be sure you have enough for everyone. I like tequila. When should I come?

If you have an idea of what everyone is going to drink, why not make a pitcher of something, and then have a little variety? If you know everyone likes margaritas, make a whole bunch using the cheap stuff, then get some other stuff that's more expensive.

You can buy 5ths but your best bet for a party will be the quart bottles. All you would need is vodka, brandy and whisky - you can get dirt cheap no-name brands for about 7 - 8 bucks each.

A common term for 750 mL of hard liquor, approximately one fifth of a U.S. gallon.

Mostly all spirits comes in a fifth. If your looking for mickeys (375mL), then you may have a problem...but your not.
