are a threat to their nation?
Why do national leaders put Christians in prison or put to death in the false belief that the Christians are a threat to their nation?
Christians are only a threat to the devil & the devils destructive works.
How is Christianity a threat to a nation according to certain national leaders (like China, Iran or North Korea)? Is it because the leaders spirit guides are antichrist?

rogavit, are you referring to the Billy Graham Crusades? Bringing in the Saving Power of the Cross, Jesus Christ the Son of God who shed His blood on the cross for remission of our sins?

buffaluv, Muslims are in the US. And they try to convert us even on yahoo Q&A. I don't think they are a threat to me. But if they decided to blow up in the Restaurant I was in because they gave me 3 chances to convert & I didn't, then I would consider them a threat. And they do terrorist acts to cause the people to submit to their demands, what ever that is? I don't have a clue except it is to convert to Islam?

begets not, The Christians want people in all nations to be restored to God. Jesus is the only Way. His atonement is the only Way. Because our sins have separated us from God. The Good News of the bible is restoration to God, by having an atonement for our sins. Not to go in & kill others. But Jesus told us to go & preach the Good News to all creation, making disciples of all peoples, baptizing them in the Name of the Father, Son & Holy Ghost. And that Gospel is being preached all around through http://us.god.tv/ , Daystar & TBN.

themeindzeye, get a map and study it. South Korea is a democracy, which is where u are talking about, North Korea is a dictatorship, and I very much doubt anyone you know has ever been there.
You need to crawl out from under your rock and find out the first thing about the real world B4 you shoot your mouth off.
Om, you should follow ya library buddy above to the library, and find out more about the crusades, namely who else was there, and what they were doing at the time. If you want to go on about Christian history and all the bad, at least make an effort to know what the hell U R on about. For example, who sacked Bagdad at time of the Crusades, as revenge against the Islamics, and why? ( Hint, wasn't the crusaders...)
Buffalove, if you had the first idea about the history of Islam, you wouldn't think that was funny, I suspect. But don't worry, muslims are there already. ( which contradicts your argument, doesn't it?)
Rogavit, now thats rich, now YOU definetly need to "get thee to a library" or a nunery which ever is closer. Muslims are a threat to not only Christians and Jews. ( Being their stated aim to destroy us all ) but to every civilisation on the planet. ( Same aim, since we are all infidels to them.) Which is why the Mongols sacked Bagdad about that time. ( Crusades ) This was revenge for the repeated and murderousattacks and infringements of various peoples territories, including the Persians, from whom they took Bagdad in the first place. Get a library card, seriously.
Angelboy, having lived in Japan 3 times for a total of 7 years, speaking the language,( ..and having studied it a further 7 years..) and having studied Asian history, I can assure you that not only would most Buddists be non plused about this, but that the Japanese, in particular, are probably the most "luke warm" religion wise of any people, I know of. It is one of their most endearing qualities, in my opinion. Whats more they are inclined to use Buddist, Shinto, and Christian ceremonies as they see fit. If you wanted to upset your gracious hosts, you would definitely need a plan B, sorry.
Foreverset, you have a good point, for all the bleating about what Christians have done, today these terrible missionaries, get poor people food, clothing, water, an education which gives them the chance to be literate ect and many a priest ect has died defending the poor against drug barons, the corrupt ect, for most of these people, the idea of some religious/ cultural imperialism is quite alien, also. ( contrary to views expressed here and elsewhere.)\
Lucid, I think you must be hallucinating. David N, ahm Christian missionaries have the only record on it, let alone whats described above. What have you ever done for anyone anywhere, that you can judge people that help others, often risking their lives in the process? We are talking about a handful of dictatorships here boys, btw, does that tell you anything..?
Maybe you could explain your position to the massacred Christians in southern Sudan, the starving families in North Korea ect. Tell em how you championed their right to live by bagging christians, and not even lifting a finger to help them. Thanks, you've been so culturally understanding....
angelktb5684's comment about "Boards of Education controlled by Christians attempt to bring "Intelligent Design" into a scientific classroom", I would have to agree with you on that one, not sure about the details of the others, but I would say, that there are very few genuinely Christian politicians in the US, and those there are are often of the "Christian Right" type, you refer to, cause they have the cash. I would say money in politics, is in itself, a much bigger problem, especially in the US.That is how you end up with G.Bush as a president... which is very sad.
Begetsnot, hate to bust ya bubble there buddy, but Ann Coulter is a right wing political hack, flogging her books for the right wing on a polemic website, not, as you claim, "a christian missionary" unless getting rich flogging books is a mission these days..? ( Look up polemic, Im sure you'll have to go borrow a dictionary first, I suggest an online one, it won't cost you anything.)(http://www.anncoulter.com/cgi-local/content.cgi?name=bookstore)
So, do we bother to answer the rest of the tripe you are peddling, no not really, except to say all christians believe in what is called monotheism, the catholics who most "resemble" what you are saying, nevertheless, don't believe in Polytheism, as you assert. Ask a priest. Modern christians definitely do not view Jews as "pagans" as you assert, Islam, being as hostile to christianity as it is, it is irrelevent as for whether or not it is or isn't "pagan", in christian terms, I think. I suspect most christians spend as little time thinking about Islam as possible, far from plotting some grand scheme against them as you imply..... Historically the invasion of Spain by te Moors, and more invasions of eastern Europe would imply there might be somethings other than what you claim at the heart of it, don't you think? The literal meaning of "saint" is in fact "believer in Christ" btw, not as you might think, some kind of sacred ex person, as it is taken to mean in common society. In other words, you wre wrong again. Perhaps you should resign yourself to it...

Muslims despise Christians. Theocracies like Iran detest non-Muslims, doesnt everybody know that? And Christians have been a threat to Muslims throughout history. Ever hear of a series of events called the Crusades? There's an interesting research project for you.
China and North Korea want nothing to do with any religion. The dictators in those countries, especially North Korea want to do everything they can to fashion themselves as God in the eyes of the people.

Why are Christians a "threat"?
Firstly, Christians do not believe in slavery, believe in "democracy", free will, unions, better pay, and so on.... these Countries have their people under their thumb nice and secure... why allow that to be changed? Besides which, look at the "civilized" Christian nations... utter chaos to them (and they are right in many respects)
Beyond all that, then you have the faith issue...
Their countries are made up of tradition handed down through the ages of mysticism of all types.
And yes...not far-fetched to say their "spirit" is of the anti-christ.
Peace be with you :)

It's more like Christianity has a noble past of being used to justify war and persecution, and was more than likely an implicit influence in our attacks on Afghanistan and Iraq. Although I cannot support the imprisonment or execution of converts in a region where they are minorities, there is genuine reason to fear Christianity when it is the majority opinion.

Why? Because the teachings of the Bible make God God
and the leaders of tyrannical nations make
themselves God. The threat is real to corrupt
and power mongers.
Second Why? Because they can't stand liberty of the
soul.
How? Because the teachings would require the leaders
to submit to God's will, and that would thwart
their own.
Antichrist? The flesh of man is enough to fight against
God, but certainly some leaders have given
evidence of demonic influence.

Well lets look at the US Government right now...
Christian Politicians are trying to enact laws to ban gay marriage, abortion, stem cell research....
Boards of Education controlled by Christians attempt to bring "Intelligent Design" into a scientific classroom......
No non-Christian, female, non-white president has ever been elected to power.....
I can see how a government whose traditions are the exact opposite to what Christianity professes would not want all those laws being put into effect to restrict their citizens.

W-a-r and T-o-r-t-u-r-e
"We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity." -- Anne Coulter, Christian Peace Activist
Conquer,Convert or kill them.
"The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism. By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism.
This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault.
The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.
The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God.
These “pagans” (Islam and Judaism) must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages." -- The Doubter's Companion (John Ralston Saul)

Because it is perfectly true. The Saudi Arabian society and government is based on Islam, and if the nation were suddenly to become something other than Islamic, the entire rationale for the system would collapse. No government, however, can be really effective if it is based on any religion, because government must adapt to changing circumstances and religion cannot do so.

Christianity is a plague.... a blight upon the world.
If left unchecked it spreads through the masses of the ignorant..... appealing to their most base instincts and flooding out reason.
And it does it all through pure ignorance, for no christian realises how much harm they do, and so they keep doing it.
THAT is why it is met with hostility. It is the closest the real world has to a zombie outbreak.

it is not just non-christian nations.
any religion can (& has) been used as a tool to control the populace.
true faith will not be corrupted and those who use religion as a control mechanism fear that people will find faith and turn away from religion, it doesn't matter if it is a religion of spirituality (Islam, Catholicism, Methodistism, Paganism, Buddhism, etc) or if it is a secular religion (stateism, communism, socialism, environmentalism, etc), & thus become more difficult to control.
