i don't understand why the KKK hates colored people and hate the people who like the colored people. i believe that the KKK should not do what they do. who agrees? everybody in America has their own rights. no one should be killed because they're black, mexican, or white. Note to self: never move to Missouri or Louisiana

my great grandma was from missouri ( ironic i know ) i'm not saying that those states are bad, but they have a lot of people that are racist. i don't hate anyone because i'm a Christian. I hate the way people think and act, but i don't hate them.

I agree with you, but these people were taught that since they were born- its hard to open such a closed mind.

well they started out with a religious "mission" but what it all comes down to is ignorance and fear. back in the early days of the united states when the kkk wasnt as treacherous as it is now, the south was threatened by the abolition of slavery and things kind of went down hill from there. black slaves were the back bone on southern economy and the fear that they would no longer be at the white mans disposal was a serious concern for white southerners. thats only a tiny faction of the puzzle though, the entire history of the kkk is way too in depth and i dont have the stregnth to type it : )
but yeah ignorance and stereotypes contribute to racism in general. and groups like the kkk are due in large part to fear. i watched a documentary about the kkk and there was this dude on there saying that we black ppl dont deserve the right to breathe in america and he was praising some of the infamous men who worked for segregation and supported the kkk in the mid 60s. only one of which was actually well educated of course the majority didnt like his approach so they ran on with their own savage antics....anyway the guy was wearing a kkk hat and a shirt that had a cross burning and it read 'the original boys in the hood'. ill never forget that because it was hilarious. like way to go for white supremacy right? and heres my favorite part of the entire segment: in the background you could see his glorious living estate. lots of green and neighbors surrounding a trailor park.

The KKK was originally the Southern Democrats attempt to keep black people from voting after the Civil war because they would vote republican who were at the time far more liberal then democrats.
It has evolved into a group that hates black, Catholics, and Jews. They are looked down on even in the deep South, which I have lived. They are idiots.

lol. its because they are racist.
many of them are brought up this way, taught to hate people who are different by their parents...
its really no different then christians hating others for their religious beliefs...
edit: yah, i have family out in missouri, they live out in the middle of nowhere though. granted ive never seen them say anything against colored, but then ive never talked to them about it either. i do know places in missouri u dont wanna go if your black, or some if your white. *shrug* lot of hate down there in the south... (which is ironic cause isnt that the bible belt? the place with most christians?)

Those places have been changing. I wouldn't hate states. But yes, bigotry is very ugly. The prejudice people I know where compared too much, as children, to other children. It all comes out of tremendous fear.

I'd be scared only if most people agreed with the KKK. They are a small minority themselves just full of anger. Kind of pathetic actually.

I agree.
I can only guess at the reasons why anyone would join them.
About the states you mentioned, I know what you are saying, but be aware these groups are in more than just those places.
