Yes, it would be wrong & immature. If a secret was told you in confidence during a friendship, it should remain so, even if the friendship is now defunct. It has to do more with personal honor than friendship...after all, would YOU like it if someone did that to you?! I think not. Keep your mouth shut.

You have to live with you're decisions you make in life. Life is all about choices. Don't rush into "spilling the beans" just because you are no longer friends with this person. Who knows down the road you may be again. Make the right choices in life, the ones YOU can live with. Don't you think you, and others, would think more of you if you didn't reveal something that was said to you in secrecy when you were this person's friend? I think I would. You evidently are having thoughts about it or you wouldn't have posted the question. You have to look yourself in the mirror everyday. Don't let this unresolved friendship make you do something you know is wrong. Good luck to you...

If someone asks you to keep something a secret, you very well should. Even if they're not your friend anymore, it would be the right thing to do to not tell anyone. There is no point in creating open hostility between you two when it's totally avoidable. By keeping the secret you are being the better, more mature person.
Good luck!

Keep it. For one, it's a secret. Second, what if there is a chance at renewing the friendship? Spilling the secret destroys that. Third, the only reason to spill it is to hurt the other person; why not take the high road; we need more of that in the world today.

Obviously, you are very young and immature. Adults don't 'spill the beans'.
If you tell this secret, people are going to find out what kind of a person you really are, and don't be surprised if others don't want to be your friend. Why should they, when you can't be trusted?
Think this over, and keep the secret to yourself. You will be a bigger person for it!

keeping a secret is a reflection of your integrity whether you're in good terms with the person you're keeping it for or not. keeping a secret wasn't a favor it was an obligation that you agreed to take on.
When people ask me to keep a secret, I don't actually keep it, after they tell me the secret, I just make an effort to forget what I just heard. It's pretty much the same difference...keeping a secret and forgetting a secret...

Yes, you should keep the secret. First, what would be the point in telling? By keeping the secret even if you are no longer friends with the person who trusted you shows others just how trustworthy you really are.

Definately. Friend or no longer friend, a promise to keep a secret should always be kept. This is why I tell my friends, do not tell me a secret, because I can't hold it in for too long. And sometimes things just slip out during conversations, and then I feel terrible.

Just remember that the person whose secret you are keeping was a friend at one time. Even though you two are no longer friends you should honour a promise you made to that friend.

People don't remember each other, rather good or bad deeds, Like he was hostile to me or he was good to me, Any enemy who shared something with you, when you were his friend, You must not disclose it for two reasons
1. He'll change his views, Since you are good in keeping secrets
2. He'll be uncomfortable since you know the secret and you can disclose anytime you feel like, So he'll be afraid doing anything wrong with you.
