I developed feelings for a close female friend but I was afraid to tell her how I felt about her because I didn't think she liked me back. I thought she only saw me as a friend and nothing more. She did seem to flirt with me every once and a while. When I was feeling this, an old boyfriend came back into her life and now they are together, so I can't ask her out at all now. Maybe the fact that she now has a boyfriend is a good indicator that she had no interest in me at all. Should I have just told her how I felt anyway?

I'm sorry! I know what you're going through in a way. I liked my close guy friend up until a few weeks ago. I never told him how I felt, and he never made a move. I felt horrible liking him as more than a friend knowing that he probably didn't feel the same way. I realised... I am so happy that we're friends, I shouldn't want to be anything more. I got over him.. took a while but I got there in the end. You can do it to. If you appreciate her as a friend then don't ruin that. Enjoy what you have! Also, focussing your attention on someone else doesn't hurt either! Good luck :)

I don't think so. The way that I feel about these things is that what happens, happens. If you didn't tell her it's because you didn't feel like it was right to tell her. If she would have had strong feelings for you she never would have hooked up with her ex.
I have a similiar situation. There was a guy I was madly in love with for 3 years, he showed a lot of interest in me but I was married at the time. Then we went our seperate ways for awhile and I got a divorce. Now we are back in contact with one another and the spark is still there but he is with someone now and just had a baby.
I don't know why things turned out this way, sometimes it drives me crazy. But that's the way it happened. Nothing can change it now.

Listen.. there is nothing you can do about it now. Dont stress... but yes.. you didnt have to TELL her how you felt, but you could definitely have swept her off her feet... took her out, wooed her.
Its ok. Theres a reason for all this. next time you know.

I think you should have. She could just be in the relationship because she thinks you don't like her. I'd tell her. Not while her boyfriend is anywhere near, of course.

maybe she is with him because you never told her. you never know. maybe she had feelings for you as well but was feeling the same way you were.

maybe you should have but oh well, don't kick yourself for it because her and her ex probably wont last long, so whenever it ends between them jump in and tell her.
