You need to stop thinking in terms of "dieting" and start thinking in terms of "healthy lifestyle". Focus your overall diet on fruits, veggies, and whole grains, with a little lean meat and low fat dairy. Drink lots of water and some green tea (not the bottled stuff, real home brewed green tea). Don't deprive yourself of treats. Whatever your weakness is, allow yourself a treat (a candy bar, or a small bag of chips, etc.) once a week, and don't be mad at yourself for it: enjoy it!
Exercise on a daily basis. Go for a walk, ride your bike, swim, run, or play basketball daily for at least 30 minutes.
If you do this, you will be healthier, happier, and you'll probably have far less cravings for those treats. You may not even want them most of the time. You just have to get yourself and your body accustomed to a healthy lifestyle.

people tend to binge eat because they are restricting their calorie intake way too much. they'll be on the brink of starving themselves, if not doing so already, and, say, someone brings home some ice cream or something and the person starving themselves thinks, "maybe a little taste won't hurt." and in no time they're digging the cracks of the carton and polishing it off. and then they blame their lack of will power when it's not even close to being that - it's the body's natural reaction to trying to make up for what it hasn't been getting.
my guess is the obvious - have satisfying meals and keep yourself busy in between. know that the pleasure of eating is only temporary but the results are not as.
good luck.

i think its all about replacing it. i replaced my chocolate with fruit. i thought it was never going to work but it did !!! the fruit tasted nice and juicy and i felt good after eating it, not fat. apples are my favorite because they take ages to eat so im not thinking about any other food. try it, it might work for you, whenever your thinking about those unhealthy foods just grab a piece of fruit and you'll feel the difference, i did.
good luck
