They are not related but in the names of the prophets that Muhamamd used.
The Qu'ran does not use the words of these prophets as they do not agree with the Qu'ran.
The Allah of Islam is in no way related to the God of Abraham though he claims to be the same god.

Islam and Christianity are 2 completely different religions. Both believe in Jesus Christ, but, Islam believes he was only a prophet. Christians believe he is a part of God. The Holy Trinity. The Father, Son and The Holy Spirit.
Most of the stories in the Quran are almost the same as the Bible's and The Torah. Since the Torah and Bible were here hundreds of years before the Quran, it only makes sense that they are the most believable.

Christianity's real teaching (the teaching of Jesus) is what Islam is all about:
1. there is One God;
2. pork are forbidden to be eaten;
3. prophets are God's messengers;
4. God is merciful and kind;
5. the children are sinless therefore there is no original sin;
6. God is forgiving;
7. that the God of Moses is also the God of us all;
8. that he was a prophet.
But the difference between Christianity and Islam became wide when a certain man named Paul who claimed to have seen Jesus in a vision (a day dream) propogated a different Christianity from that of the disciples of Jesus. He, even though did not meet or talk with Jesus, interpreted and taught the Christianity he invented to the Gentiles and the Jews. He made Christianity centered around the personality of Jesus not on the teaching of Jesus. The Christianity he taught became a personality cult thus many Jews who were believers of Jesus became alienated by this. Read Acts of the Apostles in the bible and you will find there many instances where the disciples of Jesus got heated arguments against Paul for his erroneous belief!
The truimphed of Paulinist Christianity can be credited to the pagan Constantine. He converted to Paulinism when he was on his death bed about to die. But during his heydays, he persecuted and masscred those Christians who do not embrace Paulinist Christianity , though a pagan himself, thus enabling Paulinism to be adapted as the official form of Christianity until this very day.
If Paul did not come to the scene, Muslims and Christians could have been worshiping together to the same God: the God of Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (peace be upon them all)...

Christianity is Judaism (the Old Testament) plus Jesus; Islam is Judaism plus Muhammed instead.
Basically, you start with Judaism and have one branch around 30 A.D. - Christianity. Then you have another branch off Judaism in approx. 600 A.D. - Islam. You are left with the three Abrahamic religions - Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

God sent down the Torah (sent to Moses pbuh) to guide people.
over a period of time this book was changed and people were again misguided.
God then sent the Bible (through Jesus pbuh) to guide the people...
over a period of time the church changed the book.
God then sent the Quran (through Muhammad pbuh) to guide the misguided.
Islam believes in all the prophets mentioned in the Bible.
Islam believes in the virgin birth of Jesus (pbuh).
Islam believes in the miracles given to Jesus and other prophets.
Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet, and not Son of God. (Jesus said there is only one God)
Islam believes that Jesus will be brought back to destroy the Anti-Christ.

Very generally speaking...Islam stems from Abraham's son Ishmael. While Judaism stems from Abraham's son Isaac. Christianity then stems from Judaism.

Well, Muslims believe in Jesus Christ, not like so many Christians that he was God, but that he was a prophet. Muhammad sent some of this followers to Abyssinia which was a very Christian kingdom at that time. He sent them their for help, because at that time his local leaders in Mecca were trying to persecute him. Muhammad told his followers to leave for Ethiopia, where "a king rules without injustice, a land of truthfulness-until God leads us to a way out of our difficulty." They did find refuge in Abyssinia.
Also Jesus is quoted as saying that their is another after me, meaning that their is another prophet to come after him, and it was Muhammad.
I hope this helps.

Abraham is father of Judaism and Islam. He was a player.
It even says this in the old testament. Abraham supposedly had an illegitimate child that branched into Islam.

here's a big one: they believe in the same god. also, islam recognizes jesus as a great prophet, but doesn't believe that jesus was the son of god or that his teachings are the only correct way to god. it's just the same ideas evolved in a different way, and if people could just wake up and say, "hey! our religions say PRETTY MUCH THE SAME FREAKIN' THING," maybe we'd all get along better, eh? put that in your pipe and smoke it.
