whether you agree with the war or not, if we fail to bring some sense of normalcy back to Iraq, things will be horrible there for many years...why do you want us to just leave and have another Saigon where people are begging soldier to take them with them crying, handing over babies....what is the deal?

Answer: Democrats gain power from America's failures and the DEATH of our children serving in the military!
House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) said Monday that a strongly positive report on progress on Iraq by Army Gen. David Petraeus likely would split Democrats in the House and impede his party's efforts to press for a timetable to end the war.
But of late there have been signs that the commander of U.S. forces might be preparing something more generally positive. Clyburn said that would be "a real big problem for us."

That Filth admits the left, democrat/socialists point of view and goal in this entire thing...America has to lose and the more of our service personnel are killed by their betrayal the better...For their quest for power...Corrupt by them once again!

The war in Iraq was started because of a lie about weapons of mass destruction. The only man holding Iraq together was a tyrant and a mass murderer of his own people. This fact made the people fear him and brought a degree of stability to a country which has had waring religious factions since time immemorial. Saddam was captured and eventually executed, all be it, by an Iraqi court. Who now controls the religious factions who are now being egged on by anti Western terrorist groups? Now that there is no Saddam and the political powers in Iraq have little power, the only reasonable thing to do is for the allies to leave and let them sort out their own dirty washing. This is an internal Iraqi problem and nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction or Saddam Hussein. If the allies had never gone to Iraq and Saddam had dropped dead from old age the same probably would have happened. The argument about oil in Iraq? I have no knowledge of the true facts about that and will treat it as speculation.

Obviously there are two versions of what's really going on over there.

One is the version you get from talking to soldiers who are there and know what they're trying to do, and what's being done to accomplish it, and whether or not it's working. They seem to be pretty positive, overall.

The other version is what you get in the news media. It's all total chaos, death, destruction, and hopeless.

Obviously an enlightened and intelligent person will take the word of the media, the unbiased and seeking-only-truth media, they are journalists, why would they lie to us, and what do soldiers know anyway if they couldn't do anything else but volunteer, right? So the logical conclusion is that we've already failed, it's all a big mess that we made, and the only way we can solve it is to leave.

Pay no attention to Iraq having a world class soccer team in the middle of all this chaos and madness.

Lets start by saying i feel the same way. Furthermore i don't understand why people don't get that if we fail it means serous destabilization of the region. the problem is that in the start we needed to either commit or not commit to this war and no go in half assed with half the troupes the military ask for. now at this late point in the game people are heavily against sending more troupes but that's exactly what we need. for now we need to be such an overwhelming force in that country so that the law makers aren't fearing for their lives if they make a law that is a step in the right direction (upsetting the insurgence). Sadly though many people think that we have already lost and if we stay in the country all we will do is lose American soldiers

Many experts aver that the US Vietnam war was in fact a CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY for many reasons. It was a morally obscene war mongering adventure that saw the slaughter of well over a million innocent civilians.

The world thought that the US had learnt a lesson but sadly they had/have not and today Vietnam 11 is well on it's way to be declared another CRIME AGAINST HUMANITY as it was/is an ILLEGAL war of CHOICE based upon a pack of morally offensive LIES .

As my mother always told me : "YOU BROKE; IT IS YOURS TO FIX "

The world has had it with the ever war mongering US to defend it's "National Interests" (READ PROFITS) and it's outrageous continued violations of countries soverenties and the slaughter of their citizens be it in Vietnam or Iraq or anywhere.

The latest reputable polls show over 61 % of Iraqis believe it is OK to kill US soldiers and some 75 % want the US out of Iraq.

As usual ,the US doesn't give a damn what people think or want (and have destroyed 15 DEMOCRACIES since 1950 to prove it).

If it wasn't for the innocent majority of Iraqis living a hell the US CAUSED (NO even in Saddam's days it was never ever like today),I say leave the US to rot in Iraq ,spent trillions over the next few years and just maybe then the US will have learnt it's lesson but I doubt it.

Bush crapped on the nations of the world in the UN and gave them the finger as he SHOCKED AND AWED all of humanity .

Now it is time for the nations of the world to give Bush the finger .I know,to hypocritical Americans it is never the same thing.

One last point to this ASKER.

The Asker has no moral hesitancy to use and abuse the highly emotive phrase "..are begging soldiers to take themcrying, handing over babies.."

THIS IS A MORAL OUTRAGE !!!

Where the hell has this poster been and all those other good little CHRISTIAN AMERICANS over the past five years when tens of thousands of mothers were NOT handing their babies over to soldiers BUT PICKING UP THEIR CHILDREN'S BODY PARTS FOR BURIAL ALL BECAUSE OF BUSH's and American's atrocity in Iraq.

One of the most vile phrases ever coined was one coined by the US MILITARY and used to this day by the US government to describe innocent civilians killed during a war .

The phrase of course is "COLATERAL DAMAGE" an incredibly offensive ANTI-CHRISTIAN phrase .

Can you just imagine what Americans would do and say if anyone called the victims of 9/11 COLATERAL DAMAGE.

Your HYPOCRICIES are simply monumental deserving of no respect save that you can get from your awesome military .Might is RIGHT .

Loved the use of the "word" Normalcy. Harding would've been proud.
Most of the complaints come from individuals who don't understand the situation, and don't really bother to find out. They enjoy trying to make turmoil, because quite frankly, they're ignorant and have nothing better to do with their time.
Just ask them what they think the state Iraq would be in if we just up and left. You'll get a lot of odd answers, and none of them will be correct.

It is the whole syndrome of wanting to see the best fail. When an NFL team continues to win the Super Bowl year after year, eventually people want them to fall off their pedestal. I feel it is the same way in this case. The U.S. is THE superpower on the block since the fall of the USSR (sorry to those that think China is a full fledged superpower, not quite yet) and people crave to see THE top dog on the block fail. To see the top fail makes people feel better about their crappy lives and sometimes crappy countries.
