I saw this posted in a question a secod ago. Its stated "I don't believe in science"
So like when these people were in Chemistry class did they just tell the teacher "Thats not science, thats the work of the devil"?
Sorry I just dont see how one "doesnt believe in science"

One has to be stupid.
That's the only thing one needs for not believing in science.

The people who don't believe in science should live in caves without technology.
Even creating and using fire is a part of science. Yes, it belongs to technology which is a science sorry.
These people can pray and worship without any distraction in caves, yeah.

I am sure that their faith will ensure their survival.
Hell is full of scientists and humanists.

I'm on the same page as you. Here is my theory on why they do not believe in science; it questions their beliefs and in a way destroys everything they base their life on. I always believed in science. My faith came after. I always had the thought of Adam and Eve as a story for God's power, not of what actual happened. I mean what is so wrong in believing God made Evolution. If I was God I would want to sit back and watch things evolve, grow and morph. I think discounting science is very scary. My friend once told me she thought dinosaurs where fake. That people made up dinosaurs to disprove God. Give me a freaking break. She said if Dinosaurs are not in the Bible then they do not exists, it's the Devils work. Scary I tell you. Scary!

I believe in science, I just do not accept every word as true. Examp. So many times the "enlightened" crowd has told me the evolution is fact. proved, no question, all Scientist know this how can I be so dumb? Yesterday on Yahoo, a whole article about new findings throwing wrinkles into the "tree" of evolution. "many things must be re thought" Now they weren't saying it was wrong, just lots of "mistakes" in the accepted theory.
Imagine that.

The different between sciences and true is a wide; science is more of a debate and purely relative to who is teaching it to you.

For example answer the following science question.

How many moons do we have? (You know this one you did it in science class One right?)

Wrong we have 7 moons certainly the moon (or Luna as astronomers call it) is the only celestal body to observe a strict orbit of the eart. But there are now 6 othere moons to follow the earth around the sun, despite being invisible to the naked eye. The first Cruithne (3 miles wide) descovered in 1997. since then 6 more with the snappy names PH5 2000 WN10 2OOO AA29 2002 YN107 2003 and GU9 2004.

What makes champagne fizz? (the carbon dioxide right)

Wrong its dirt, in a perfectly smooth clean glass, carbon dioxide molecules would evaporate invisibly, it’s the microscopic particles of dust and bits of fluff in the glass that enables them to form.

How many senses dose a human have (I know this one 5 sight, hearing, taste, smell touch!!)

You guessed it Wrong! At least 9 add toy your list of 5 the following:
Thermoception, the sense of heat or cold
Equilibrioception, our sense of balance
Nocieption, the perception on pain from the skin, joints and bodies organs
Proprioception, this is the unconscious knowledge of where our body parts are without being able to see or feel them. For example shut your eyes and waggle your left foot in the air. You still know where it is in relation to the rest of you.

Yeah, it's funny how those very same people are the ones who run groveling to the doctor when they're ill because they do not want to die. They don't mind when science helps them recover from illness..... or when they take medicines (even over the counter medicines) developed by science to help with headaches or stomach aches or back problems etc....

They don't believe in science yet they have no problem using the products created BY science.

I have no idea. Personally, I believe science is a product of religion: the desire of a being to understand more about his Maker and the other things He made.

"Science and religion are coherent
Science is just too young to understand."

I don't think that's what science is all about. I believe that science is a method for humanity to prove to itself that GOD does exist, unbeknownst to scienctists who remove GOD from the big picture because they do not know how to quantify GOD. Those that would claim that chemistry is the work of the devil are simply ignorant of reality. If GOD created everything in the Universe, then there must have been a process to it. Science explains what some of those processes are to a certain degree. In the grand scheme of things, science is only in it's infancy. I believe that at some point in the future (possibly a long time from now). Science will only prove that GOD does truly exist without any further questions. It's only a matter of time.

The word science is derived from the Latin "scire", "to know". Therefor science is the "art of knowing". It is an observable fact that x-tians are "against knowledge",, they would rather sit back and slavishly believe in fairy tales and nonsense conjured up by priesthood intent on enslaving them and milking them for money.

Especially when she posts the question online using a computer -- a product of science!

Some days I just want to weep for the depth and breadth of ignorance in some people. No reasonable person says that "science" created the world. The forces of nature create the world -- "science" is the methodology by which we seek to UNDERSTAND those forces.

Saying "God did it" is just wrapping "I don't know" in a cloak of superstition and fear. And to borrow from Douglas Adams, I much prefer the awe that comes from understanding to the awe that comes from ignorance.

I am a Christian, have a degree in physics and worked as an engineer. I believe that true science generates laws to make the things God created more understandable to the human mind. But when science makes assumptions that are as absurd as the old teaching that the world was flat, I have a problem with it. To the extreme, they now take a signal from outer space and with their mass assumptions interpret planets and etc.. I am just waiting for them to say they discovered a gnat on a camel's back 1000 light years away. Evolution's ASSUMPTION that matter becoming complex life goes against every other field of science. Every other field, thermodynamics, chemistry and etc. have laws that state when things are left to themselves they go to a LOWER state. Believing scientific assumptions that are unproven, just to try to force God from our society, is the really stupid course of action.
