Men(Roman Catholics) worshiped the dragon(satan) because he had given authority to the beast(pope), and they also worshiped the beast and asked, "Who is like the beast? Who can make war against him?"

Why would anyone want to worship UN?

The devil will counterfeit God's work by all means. Even if it means making "Christians" (by means of Roman Catholic), to worship him while they think they're worshipping Lord God. So people(Catholics) can say Lord Lord, that doesnt mean they are a part of the few elect who'll see God's Kindom. They cannot be deceived because they have a true spiritual relationship with Lord Jesus. The make-believers will always be spiritually blind to deceit and will always go with the flow of Catholism and its false teachings and doctrines. God's children worship Him in Truth and in Spirit. Amen. They dont worship Him via the Pope, or sum reverend, arch-bishop, or whateva the names they give themselves. God didnt give us the Pope. The reason there is Pope(satan) and Lord God the Holy Spirit is that people must have a right to choose between right and wrong. This helps God to filter the weed from wheat, then the weed can be bundled and burned. Roman Catholic doesnt resemble Jesus. Jesus is just. Amen

Very good. When Romes Political power (the beast from the sea) bit the dust, the Vatican just exchanged it for religious power, but still holding hands with the beast from the sea. The religious "icining" was only a facade, and still is.

Finally, from the Romans came a magnificent organization: the Empire. The church, working within the political subdivisions of the Empire, modelled its own administrative units on them. In time the successors of St. Peter, the bishops of Rome, came to exercise a certain authority, so that the church, like the Empire, had its chain of command and carefully linked administration. No other religion could boast such a complete and efficient organization.
From: The Enduring Past, revised edition.
Later on in Rev. 17., we see the beast from the earth, that had the two horns like lambs horns, but spoke like a dragon, is transformed into a woman called (MOTHER). This is blasphemy in itself, because we all know that religion is the spawn of man. Man brought this so called (MOTHER) church into being by their own will alone, it had nothing to do with woman. Men can only give birth to institutions, foundations, concepts, etc, not actual children. We see that the churches power is much diminished because she sits on the dragon with the seven heads. All the same, she sits as the Mother over christianity. The seven heads of the dragon referr to the seven churches addressed at the beginning of Revelation.

I doubt if the Antichrist ('beast') is the Pope. There have been so many...and all except the present one, have already dies natural deaths-without bringing the world to an end. And there doesn't seem to be anything about this pope, that makes him more powerful, or evil than the rest.

I don't go along with much of the Catholic church's teachings, but they do teach that the pope is a man-sinful, and needing salvation, as much as anyone else. The pope goes to confession-just like any good Catholic is supposed to. And he is only infallible when he speaks 'ex Cathedra'. Most modern popes have not taken tis lightly-it has been invoked only four times in the 20th century (not yet n the 21st).

You see, this is the problem in religions where there is no structure for reading and interpreting the Bible: people treat it like poetry or some other random piece of art that can mean virtually anything to anyone. Thank goodness God gave us a Pope so that we don't have that problem...

Or perhaps you think that UNITY is the work of the devil as well...

I am afraid you have been gravely deceived.

Catholic Christians worship only the one true God of Abraham, the Holy Trinity, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

As we state in the Nicene Creed from 325 C.E.:

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary, and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen.

For a complete description of what Catholics believe (none of which is Satan worship), see the Catechism of the Catholic Church: http://www.usccb.org/catechism/text/index.htm

With love in Christ.

Highly unlikely that John wrote these words about Simon Peter. But at least you recognize that the Catholic Church was under the Pope's authority in Apostolic times. Some of your equally confused fundamentalist brethren don't even realize that basic fact of Christian history. Sad.

Where does this passage say anything about the Roman Catholics and the Pope? If this scripture meant that then it would have written those words instead of Men and beasts. Please make sure that you are reading the Bible in the correct context. This is how scripture gets twisted.

Ahhh... another "thinker" who has bought into the lies that are told about the pope, and who gets his information from sophmoric anti-catholic tracts. Sad.
If you guys want tracts to read, there's a whole bunch of them that refute these insults at: http://www.catholic.com/library/anti_catholicism.asp

By the way, many madmen have made war against the pope - read your history. Napoleon captured and imprisoned the pope. Nero crucified the first pope. But they can never succed because the office of Peter and his successors is divinely instituted and will go on until the end of the world.

judaism is basically a tribal faith that doesn't pretend to have the only fee ticket to god, and exists interior the style it replaced into in while the settled into israel, so i doubt you are going to discover something surprising in it previous the time-honored impacts from different cultures that maximum religions have.
