There is no point other than to bring the individual down. We as Christians must be spreading the love of Christ.

Good question. Who knows? I do know that when I first participated in R&S - I used to think this section was horrible!!! I mean the things we all say to each other on here! But then, several odd months later, I returned and participate more regularly and realized that many of these people "know" each other on here and often they are making statements in "good fun" if you will at each other, while sharing their differing views. Still, there are folks that show up and are just ugly to be ugly to others. It's a shame.

this is no longer a foul theory to compliment a popularity that helps describe the beer form. So if that's a dismal beer, then a popularity that contains words with that connection - dusk, twilight, ineffective night, etc. If that's a golden beer then names with those sorts of connection - sunshine, meadow, wheat-field.

Nope.
Some people actually believe name-calling gives them the edge in an argument. Where do they think they are? On Fox News?

Simple.
Some people are riled by it.
They get emotional about it and take it seriously.
It weakens them.
Weaken them enough and they might go away.
It is a natural part of animal behaviour to get rid of competition.... and the easiest way is to remove the weakest targets first.

Its just ignorance or stupidity. People don't take time out to know about something different, and since you're not like them, it must not be right. They are afraid of difference and standing out and thinking with their own minds.

I would love to know the answer, since I despise that behaviour as well, but unfortunately you're not going to get an answer to that from a person who actually does it.

Its called "leveling" if you feel inferior to someone that they are above you in someway they feel compelled to try and bring them down to there level. Or they do the opposite inflate there own self esteem into gigantic proportions. Its there own inadequate feelings that make them do it. I feel sorry for them really.
